So he's going to start providing regular updates here again?  Cool.

IDK, maybe. He will, at least, be regularly updating the Legacy forum (or so I'm told).

 That's great.  Question still stands.

Personally I love M Verta's videos! I haven't looked at the legacy forum for a long time because there was rarely new content there the last time I checked, so I appreciate a heads up here when there's something new over there. Even if we never get to see a finished product I really like seeing the process, I think it's fascinating personally.  Just my 2 cents...

I'm not clicking on that, there's a fifty percent chance there's a virus there keyed to hater IPs.

I clicked it and I just got this guy singing "Never Gonna Give You Up".  Weird.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Thank you very, very much for this Mike, I just sat here and watched and listened to the whole thing and you have changed my mind for sure, it is so much nicer seeing people, having eye contact, seeing facial expressions, this just tells SO much more then just text on a Forum, again thank you for this, really great hearing all this, but 1 thing lol, what is it you kept looking at in the upper right lol?

Oh, and what is the link to your Forum? would love to catch this live thing tomorrow.

Thanks

*edit, I see the link is in your sig, thanks.

I'm having a hard time streaming the video.  Maybe too many people are watching at once?  Seems good so far though, w hat little I've managed to see :)

Download it with Jdownloader2.  Right-click on the link and select copy or copy location.  It will then appear in JD2 and you should be good to go.

Thanks!  I've made it to the part where you say you've spent 200k on this... WOW!  That alone means no one here has the right to criticize your efforts, that's a serious sacrifice for the love of film and SW.  I hope the powers that be recognize that when the time comes...

I do not, however, own my own house. You know, priorities.

Well, you own a pretty bitchin' R2D2, so that's something  :)

Other people around here have spent their own money to obtain film prints and the like. They simply choose not to discuss it.

Where were you in '77?

Author

Yeah, and some people (not me - others...) have spent near that obtaining equipment and prints. Not knocking Mike, just saying.  :)

I guess that's what irks me about some people - like you were talking about Mike, a very "me"-oriented mindset... People who didn't spend any of their own money who want to micromanage the whole thing...

Guys why all the hate?  Do you want something for nothing?  He's gotten 4K scans of the film.  That is really hard to do.  It has to be real.  Yeah it drives me crazy to see partial stuff but what else would we talk about in the mean time?

I'm sure many have, I've admired Poita's recent equipment acquisition.  I wasn't trying to say no one else has sacrificed.  I respect all of the members here who have sacrificed so much time and money for the love of SW.

There are also members who have ponied up for prints for other restorations as well.  When I donated my intent was to help save the print and make the restoration happen.  To me, that is what counts, for all of us.

:)

Yeah, definitely. I know of a few members here who donated quite a bit to help other projects... :)

For sure, people putting actual money down is a very cool thing.  A lot of Legacy has happened by people doing essentially that, when they provide services for free, like print cleaning or whatever.  Star Wars has a funny way of bringing out the best (and worst, it seems) in people.

Also, quick reminder to people signing up - be sure to check your email for confirmation!

email confirmation must take a bit as I have not received mine.  I'm a patient guy though, LOL.
