Does anybody here know about the trailer for the '79 re-release for Star Wars? I know about the '78 Academy Award trailer (with the coming July 21st credits at the end) but I can only find the '81 & '82 trailers after that. Did 20th Century Fox & Lucas just reuse the '78 trailer minus the coming July 21st credits at the end, or was there an entirely different trailer made for '79? I love these old trailers & was wondering.
There was a whole ad campaign, but it may have been limited to tv ads billboards etc. They were character-specific, like you could see a billboard that just says "Han Solo is back!" and nothing else. Then down the road another sign says "C-3P0 IS BACK" And a lot of tv spots like this one:
Oh, ok. That would explain why I couldn't find any theatrical trailers for 1979! Thanks for the info.
