That's the awesome part. I'm not actually in front of any adults. We are scattered across different parts of the world. :-D

When I was your age, kid, I wouldn't have dared speak like that in front of grown-ups ;-D

I just saw the Blu-Rays (I'm re-editing a Star Wars documentary in HD) and the very first thing of note that struck me was the insane amount of digital noise reduction in TPM. I mean, it is TONNAGE (and I'm watching it on a 19" computer monitor!)
I skimmed through the other movies quickly, and didn't find anything as overt as the TPM stuff. But I tried complaining about this at TheForce.net, but nobody seemed to care.
In my frustration - and because I'm teaching myself Gimp.org - I put together this little .GIF.
Glad to be here at OT.com now. I've been a lurker for a while and I am looking forward to some SW discussions that don't have a vibe of dozens of omega nerds scrutinizing you to see if you're a "basher" or whatever.

Well....it's about the PT, so I don't know if too many fans here will care too much. It's about the false flag terrorism element of the PT:

I'm redoing it in HD (now that the Blu-Rays are out) and adding in some more sophisticated, animated graphics. I'm doing it entirely on Blender.
That's actually interesting.
Oh and as to the DVNr in Episode I, there is an alternative. Adywan released a 1080p AVCHD version, which is based on the HDTV broadcast and is colour corrected. It's the same master as the DVD, so it's not so great either but it doesn't have the ugly DVNr waxy look of the Blu-Ray. More info can be found here.

Thanks for both the compliment and the link.
The only files I see for download at popular sites are Adywan's 'Revisited' and then some '97 SEs. Do you know where the TPM can be found?
I guess there is one big problem, though: I DEFINITELY prefer the CG Yoda to the Don Rickles-esque TPM puppet! (In fact, does anybody know what the reason why that puppet was so hideous was?)
It's on tehparadox.com, as well as Ady's TPM Theatrical DVD. Just go there and search for Adywan :-)

I love that documentary. Good job.
Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

Thank you very much!
I'm happy with it. (Ya know, when I FIRST did it, I downloaded all the snippets just from the ol' 10-minute YouTube uploads where people posted the full movies in 10-minute chunks. I then had to convert those into .WMV so that I could edit them in Windows MovieMaker, then convert them, like, three different times. It looked HORRIBLE, but I was very proud! Even this one I did totally in Windows MovieMaker because my computer can't handle good editing software. But now with the HD version, I'm using Blender's proxies and just having some fun.)
This was always somewhat common sense to me based upon watching the movies but then I got into "conspiracy theory" stuff and I wrote an article about it at TheForce.net. And THEN, a year or two later, the stupid Clone Wars show came out and COMPLETELY re-wrote all of this stuff, and I was irate. So I just wanted to get it down for the record before even the PT is retconned into irrelevance by the inane CW show.

Awww, CPY is my favorite part of the movie! I'm very sad to see it replaced.
Nice documentary, BTW.

Don't worry there's room around here for all types of projects, and having a wider group of projects makes this place better. If you want a thread, make it. (probably in the 'Preservation other fan project' category)
Although there is a vocal bunch who poodoo PT projects there have been a few. From Theatrical reconstructions:

On your piece. You've got the SW part wrapped up. But your tie-in to the 'real' world is limited. You've got the three early examples which you expect people to know, then at the end you've got these random photos of people you don't identify and don't explain their relevancy. Seems like this is a start of a larger piece but as you've had this piece of almost 5 years now, not sure what you're up to. and if the answers are in the doc you mention in the youtube description, provide a link.

Don't know what CPY is, but if you meant the Don Rickles/Swamp Thing mash-up they called Yoda in the TPM puppet, you and I have TOTALLY different tastes!
....Except you liked my documentary, so maybe not.
Thanks for the compliment!

Seeing all these fan projects makes me feel like an luddite and a bum. It's really amazing all the things people do. (I used to run a fan podcast about James Cameron and felt like I was above-and-beyond other fans....then I saw this fan DVD of T2:3D and I was just like, "That can't be topped. I concede defeat." I get that feeling twenty times a day with 'Star Wars'.)
I was just checking out that totally bizarre and random ROTS documentary, but it was pretty cool. Those snippets took me back to one of the most exciting moviegoing times of my life.
I agree with your criticisms of my little documentary. They'll be amended this time. (A link to the documentary mentioned in the video summary is here.)

CPY = "creepy puppet yoda" (I just invented that acronym). The reason I like him/it, and jar jar, and midichlorians, is that the only way I can stand to watch the prequels is as train wrecks. Removing the poorly-done elements just leaves boringness. At least with all the hilarity, they're good in a "Plan 9 from Outer Space" sort of way.

I like the prequels, but I can see what you're saying. I read the 'Transformers 2' review from this hilarious critic, OutlawVern.com, and he said that he prefers that to the first one in the same way he prefers 'Batman & Robin' to 'Batman Forever' ("both are terrible so you go for the more spectacularly terrible one"). Although I actually like the first Transformers, also.
I'm able to accept the prequels as both inferior to the OT and contaminated by all the lies in the retcons....but still enjoy them. Actually, I flat-out loved ROTS. I believe that if that had been the only prequel released, there would be no stigma of any sort attached to the prequels.

Ha-ha, I was guessing "crazy puppet yoda" or "crappy puppet yoda."

That was my least favorite, believe it or not. I would agree though that there might have been less stigma, just due to the absence of Jar Jar.

Less stigma yes, no stigma no. There is plenty wrong with that movie that had nothing to do with the other two.
Like Anakin turning to the dark side on a dime, Padmé dying of a broken heart, Padmé dying period, mention of midi-chlorians, younglings, Grevious' cough, the stilted love scenes, the stilted dialogue, bad acting, overused CGI, etc, etc.

Definitely agree with most of those, although I wouldn't say that Anakin turned to the Dark Side "on a dime", it just felt like that because it was poorly executed.
For instance, I think that his distrust in the Jedi was supposed to be very acute, but it only came across in a couple of ineffectual story beats. There's a possibly meaningful exchange in one of the "Making Of" featurettes on the DVD (not the Blu-Ray). Lucas tells Hayden Christiansen that he's re-written Anakin's exchange with Palpatine. And Hayden immediately perks up and is like, "Oh?!?" with an optimistic gleam in his eye. I think he was thinking, "So now my character's actions are gonna make sense?" Only kinda-sorta.

Whatever the reason, it is what it is. Anakin may as well have said, "what the hell, why not?"
