4 of my friends (all die hards) and I have a Star Wars movie marathon/eating and drinking fest every year. Next year's was supposed to be the big ZOMG STAR WARS ON BLU RAY!!!! fest, well, not anymore. Of the 5 of us, all 5 of us were planning on buying the BR set, and now none are buying it. The "No NOOoooo" scene killed it for all of us.

BTW, thanks to everyone who pointed me in the right direction of the fan edits/restoration projects.

You're in for a treat if you and your friends have never seen Revisited.  Some of the changes I would remove if I had the talent, but the movie has never looked or sounded so good.  It really made me feel like I was watching it for the first time again.

One of my friends brought copies of the GOUT he downloaded and burned for all of us, so we all watched the prequels followed the GOUT versions. Man, it had been years since I saw it, and to be perfectly honest, I was expecting them to look WAY worse than they did (I never bought them when they were released in '06 because of how bad everyone said they looked).

I am totally looking forward to watching all these restorations and fanedits  as I can and sharing them w/ my less comp savvy friends.

Why are some of you guys mad about the original trilogy being editted? I mean, it's not like they were so awesome or anything... I personally prefer the new trilogy, since they're newer and have more action in them, and i'd like the originals to be reeditted and made just as awesome. I've watched the uneditted versions of the originals, and frankly i didn't like them at all, but maybe that's cuz my generation don't like movies that were made in the 70s.

Your post makes me shudder. I'm 18 and I prefer the OOT over anything else big time. If you prefer the Prequels' CGI action scenes over the emotion of the OT, then I'm sorry. I like the prequels too, but to say they're better than the originals is just... yikes.

You might want to consider seeing Harmy's version.  It's amazing to see the original trilogy, without all the new crap, in HD and looking sharp like the day it first appeared on the big screen.  I nearly cried, it was like being in the theater in 1977 all over again.

I will, I plan on watching Harmy's along w/ Dark Jedi's versions to begin with.

NO what is stupid is YOU saying they are stupid, some just do not like the OT that much, why is that SO hard to understand, hell I have Friends that like the PT better, and I certainly do NOT call them stupid for doing so, and they don't me for liking the UOT. UNBELIEVABLE the mind set of some people, it is truly amazing.

Look, I like the PT too.  But in terms of quality I personally just find it unbelievable some prefer it over the OT.  And either way, I was more criticizing their not liking of the (O)OT more than their liking the PT.
