Well, it's not letterboxed at least. Will it be HD? No one knows.

I guess some anamorphic deleted scenes are much better than nothing; one can pray that they're in HD. It amuses me that among the YouTube Suggestions sidebar of the deleted scenes video is Harmy's grappling hook video. It has 4,097 views! I wonder how many think it's real.

Of course it's real.  I saw it with my own eyes 25 May, 1977.

you'll probably find that its the same few that have made multiple accounts just so they can vote multiple times.

These actions build Ady's reputation, there are more casual viewers in those youtube threads seeing his name for the first time and they have to be wondering what could cause this vitriol.

Adywan, the source you were conversing with, there were things you mentioned not being able to post.  Could a well worded question be asked in the HomeTheaterForum thread which could confirm or expand upon that person's information?

I heard mentioned in this thread that the deleted scenes could be in the same kind of letterboxed SD as the 2006 GOUT. In the trailers for the deleted scenes, however, they appear to be in anamorphic...

I guess none is right that no publicity is bad publicity.  Still, reading things like this, that some people actually are big enough assholes and have nothing better to do than this kind of crap... well, aside from the terrible negativity against film preservation, it's stuff like that that makes me really embarrassed to be a Star Wars fan.  The last thing I want is for people to associate me in any way with assclowns like those.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I would be very surprised if the deleted scenes weren't 1080p. Didn't LFL say in so many words way back when (I'm talking at least a year ago) that they were going through the vault cataloging everything????

Oh, wait. These are the same people who said in 2006 that they "returned to the archives" to bring us what ended up being laserdisc masters of the OOT.

The deleted scenes on the prequel DVDs are anamorphic.  So I think there's at least some hope.

Is somebody checking the comments on YouTube ?

The best voted comments are personal insults on Adywan, and all comments which defend him are hidden, because they "received too many negative votes". The interesting thing is that most of the people (actually ALL which I checked till now) have registered on youtube ONLY to write these insults. Could these guys be LFL employees ? Any ideas ?

It's certain members over at blu-ray.com. The same bunch that like to throw personal insults like little kids in a playground.

I tried to read the Star Wars blu ray thread over at bluray.com.

I had to close the tab after only reading about 10 comments. Childish is a good word.

They didn't look interlaced to me from the YouTube video, but you could be right. However, it would probably be 1080i not 720i, as 1080 is more common I believe.

You know I don't understand WHY you guys all think the worst of the deleted scenes. It's a treat for everybody, not just for the OT fans. That means they'll probably be at least decent quality...
