The German rating site list the same features as above... about 819 minutes, not 927.

What a shame though that both "From Star Wars to Jedi" and "Empire of Dreams" are missing.

Just another "Up Yours" from Lucasfilm re SD docs. Would love to hear the apologists' take on that one. "Just be happy you're getting them at all - Lucas doesn't have to do anything if he doesn't want to." Sigh...

I preordered the Complete Saga back in March/April for a net cost of $40 at B&N (ship to home, 50% off coupon, $10 off Groupon). I haven't canceled yet because I'm mulling the idea of selling it for a little profit, but even that wouldn't be worth it.

“Grow up. These are my Disney's movies, not yours.”

I'd rather have HD transfers of the deleted scenes without cleanup applied than SD transfers with cleanup.

I agree, by the way.  I was just speculating on Lucas again going with absolute minimum effort and giving the fans another floater.

"Cinematographic history."

:-/

It's rather arcane usage but it is still acceptable English.

That wasn't my point.  I was referring to the fact that it mentions history while Lucas is blotting it out.

Star Wars BD: D8 - Extended Scenes Ep 4-6 (Part 1) - [27:48]
Star Wars BD: D8 - Extended Scenes Ep 4-6 (Part 2) - [19:33]

45min of deleted scenes for each trilogy? I thought it was for the whole saga. If those are in HD, I might consider buying the saga boxset.

What i want to know i, why is are the deleted/ extended scenes for the OT split into two? And i wonder just how much of this runtime will include introductions about why they were deleted

And how many of them are finished. (We know from the Watto shot that some of them are not.)

Well 90 minutes of deleted scenes ? That's almost like a new Star Wars movie :-)

DO YOU PEOPLE KNOW HOW LONG IT TOOK MENTO READ 183 pages!!!! In the field....at work....on an iPhone 8-@ I HATE YOU ALL! (lol, jk) After my first post here on July 25th I decided to go back and read every page. I learned a number of things; 1. (EDIT)I've decided to change my #1 that was about Ken. I think we should take it easy on him after I looked around and into his posts and profiles on other sites. I don't think his repetition and reactions are necessarily on purpose...not sure really. I'll leave it at that** 2. This entire thread has been one heck of a Humdinger 3. I'm not sure how Ady doesn't jump off a cliff after some people's posts 4. I'm buying the set...for the audio...and deleted scenes. (and to watch it with my 4 year old). I got rid of my '04 DVDs and don't have a tape player for my VHS copies anymore. At least I'll enjoy my time with my little one. 5. Some people here are too serious. 6. Some aren't serious enough. 7. I'll download Ady's future release for my personal enjoyment 8. I wish I were color blind (lol) 9. I love Star Wars 10. I hate Jar Jar

haha interesting post!  However, I suggest downloading some of the masterful restorations of the OOT made by some of the people here over showing your little one the Blu-Rays first. ;)

What Watto shot? What have i missed?

That menu video shows a unfinished shot of Watto when you have selected the 'deleted/extended scene' section.

A friend of mine who went to Comic Con saw some clips of The Phantom Menace blu ray DVD and said it looked very clear and crisp, and that the pink hue had gone...

I wouldn't read too much into the exact coloration of things in that trailer, folks. Wait until actual screenshots from the discs are out there.

Yep.. it seems that it got a new nicer transfer. There's a comparison picture here. Leave it to LFL to make the PT look better videowise...

Well, it seems quite logical that they'd make a new transfer of TPM for the 3D conversion because the one done for the DVD was very weak (not only did it have the pink tint, it was also quite soft and had some other problems.)

I took another look at the HDTV broadcasts of the 2004 transfer, and in some scenes the sharpening made by Lowry doesn't look that good. It worked once scaled down to DVD resolution, but in HD it gives the image too much of a "painted" effect. I hope the new transfers omit this sharpening...

Well, at least I think it's that sharpening Lowry talks about in the Saving Star Wars article (no edge enhancement artifacts, a desription that fits the way the HDTV broadcasts were sharpened).

Woof, Episode II sure is an ugly looking movie.

yet there are two 90 minute documentaries on Star Wars parodies and the motherfucking legion of manchildren (or whatever those people call themselves).

Okay, I have to step in here. The 501st is the largest SW Costumeclub in the world. They do a lot of charitywork, going to hospitals to cheer up sick children etc.

http://www.501st.com/mission.php

I'm a member for 10 years now, and I did not see any "manchildren" there. BTW, we have a lot of women there...

On the other side, I agree with you, that those documentaries don't belong on this BD set.

I apologize. I did not know they did they did charity. I feel like a dick for saying that. Maybe I should think before I post (duh).

They still shouldn't be on the set while the originals are excluded. That's nonsense.

Man, I had no idea the engine shots were real full-scale models. That's cool.
