I’d have preferred 2 more games in the style of Lego TFA to be honest. But as expected keeping on brand with the “saga” comes first…
From the trailer it seems that they still don’t talk which is a plus! Nice. Hate that new Vader helmet, though.
And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

I hope they expand on it with Rogue One and Solo content. I could go for a little Clone Wars, Rebels and Resistance content as well. Heck, toss in The Mandalorian too. I only want it all.

Sorry, I don’t get this. Is just the packaging a collector’s edition, or are they remaking all of these in HD? And are they really releasing an actual NES game for NES?
And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.
I would assume by physical release they mean actual physical media as opposed to digital downloads. And I have to assume, at least in the case of PC games, they are updated to run on current generation operating systems. At least some of the games likely have updated resolution and possibly updated graphics. For example, I know Bounty Hunter is supposed to be the same version available for download on the PlayStation Store for the PS4 which advertises as “Re-experience Star Wars Bounty Hunter™ for PS2™ like never before! Featuring full 1080p up-rendering and offering enhanced features such as Trophies, Shareplay, Remote Play, Activity Feeds and Second Screen support for game manuals with ‘PS Vita’ or PS App.”
As for the NES thing, I bet it is an actual NES cartridge. But I don’t know for sure.
JEDIT:
They have indeed made actual NES cartridges…

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will feature hundreds of playable characters — the most ever for a LEGO Star Wars game
For the first time in the series’ history, players can start the game at any point in the Star Wars timeline; fans can jump in with Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, begin the original trilogy with Star Wars: A New Hope, or launch right into Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
“With the Skywalker saga coming to an end, we wanted to give fans the ultimate Star Wars video game experience with all the humor and charm that is uniquely LEGO,” said Douglas Reilly, vice president, Lucasfilm Games. “LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will bring to life all those Star Wars adventures remembered and undiscovered in an epic culmination of all nine saga films as fans celebrate the closing of this chapter in Star Wars.”

The New Lego Star Wars Is Impressive And Surprisingly Different

The camera is closer in and behind-the back, with the character pushed in much closer than usual, similar to how you’d view you the action and the character you’re controlling in a Gears of War game. The camera is controlled freely with the analog stick. This angle will also be used in the game’s levels. He noted how deftly kids work with free cameras in Minecraft and Fortnite, among others.
Combat now involves light attacks, heavy attacks and force moves, allowing for more complex fighting and button combos, a depth attempted in few Lego games other than the recent Lego Ninjago Movie adaptation.
Looks more like it is composed of Lego bricks than any other game I’ve seen in the franchise.
there will be five levels for each film and that the developers are trying to focus as much as possible on sections of the movies that weren’t turned into levels in previous Lego games.
You can stop doing one sidequest before finishing it, start another and the game will remember your progress in the other quests.
We were shown a basic side quest—one of apparently 500 set up for the game—involving translating for and then helping a Gonk droid. Also teased some more interesting types of activities in the open world: bounty hunter missions in which you go to a planet to seek a character hidden on another planet and “smuggler’s runs” where you pick up cargo and have to fly it from system to system without being caught by the Empire.

The packaging for these look somewhat familiar 😉
Very nicely done…

Ugh, that edited Vader strikes again… NES packaging would have made more sense.
And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.
I really want to get the Bounty Hunter game for PS4 even though I already have it for ps2… idk if I should
After being beaten and battered by prequel hate, I promise not to be that to the next generation.

Oh god that’s the one they had up on the SW official site somewhere and it vanished. What a monstrosity.

I don’t like matching them to toy packaging at all. It just doesn’t fit, these were games in box, not action figures. Not even close.
I actually played NES SW for the first time today. Interesting game! I bought it this month for collecting and just tried it quickly, unfortunately I don’t own my own NES anymore to play it again. Seemed fun though.

‘LEGO STAR WARS BATTLES LETS YOU ENTER THE BRICK ARENA’:-
https://www.starwars.com/news/lego-star-wars-battles-announce
The article says it will be released in 2020.
It does look like it could be a lot of fun - I hope the game will be free, or a low fixed price without any in-game purchases.
Tighten Up and then turn it all the way up to 11!
Some more good news - if you own a Nintendo Switch:-
“Jedi, you are our only hope! A former student of Luke Skywalker has betrayed the Jedi Academy & it’s up to the New Republic’s Kyle Katarn to restore order. The full single player experience of Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast strikes back on #NintendoSwitch 9/24.”

Yes!!! - thankyou
I hope they’ll do more of the older Star Wars games as well 😃
Tighten Up and then turn it all the way up to 11!
What!! That’s awesome!
It’s a bit weird though since I played the series on PC always and I think of them as PC games. I never played the console GC version of Outcast so using a controller will feel weird.

Well beyond the GC version being a horrendous port the mouse controls were kind of essential for saber movement. It will be interesting to see how it fares today.
Interesting. I never knew how they got it down to one Gamecube disc so that’s how I suppose.
Even now I have the reflex of right button mouse for saber throw
g_saberdismemberment cheat activate, fun begins!
