I'm only watching it if it has Chewie's family avoiding Imperial troops while preparing for some type of wookiee holiday.
So a new video of Rick McCallum has surfaced where he discusses the live action series as well as the current television market. He also drops the current working title for the series “Underworld.”
Thoughts?

I'll believe it when I see it. Make the third trilogy while Mark Hamill can still strap on a lightsaber why don't they!
Why google thought I'd want to see an ad banner for Lesbian dating over that video I'll never know!
Where were you in '77?

Rick forgot to say, "It's so dense. In every shot there's so much going on."

So...Star Wars werewolves? What?
If Kate Beckinsale isn't in this, I will put my keyboard through this computer monitor. She is a goddess.

lol
no question rick is a sycophant, boot-licker and yes-man.
thing is, as a producer, he seemed pretty good at what was required as far as managing resources, staffing and schedules. While it does suck that he told everyone how awesome everything was even though he knew damn well it was a POS, Im not sure I entirely agree with the premise that the fall of star wars was because lucas replaced kurtz with mcallum.
people keep saying that a 'strong producer was needed to keep lucas in line and kurtz was exactly that'. but is that really what a producer should be doing? does kathleen kennedy need to make sure spielberg doesn't phone it in? did barbara de fina need to make sure martin scorsese was putting an honest days work? was it lawrence benders responsibility to make sure actors and tarantino were on the same page? james cameron produces his own movies nowadays but i don't recall gale anne hurd telling him to write better scripts.
If Kurtz felt it was his job to push lucas because a producer does that to directors - i don't agree. But if Kurtz felt he had no choice but to do this because, well, george was being george and it was wrecking the movie - i consider that to be an indictment on lucas more than mccallum.
of course rick was going to green light everything lucas did, and he had no issue lying to the fans. and that really sucks. But it should have been expected that lucas demands unwavering groveling and fawning as an employment requirement. sycophancy is perhaps the only thing lucas values more than money. LFL is a personality cult first and foremost.
the fact that kurtz had to fight with lucas for the quality of the movies and rick does not, really just means lucas craves underachievement and the arrows should be pointed at him.

Why should he know "damn well" your opinion, and take it as a fact?
Because. Okay? :P

my opinion of the films had nothing to do with that statement you quoted nor my entire post.
the Star Wars franchise has always been considered a licence to print money, although obviously they didn't figure out that weren't huge amounts of money to be made from TV when they first got excited about the concept years ago.
Although I still don't believe that they wouldn't recoup their costs once international TV rights, DVD and associated merchandising returns were factored in . Although it does show what we've long since suspected in that George's passion for the Star Wars universe only exists if there is a quick buck to be made.
I always assumed that the live action show was gonna be more character driven and less about big budget action & effects, but given George's inability to write convincing dialogue and interesting characters as evidenced by the prequels, then it probably isn't surprising he wants to go the special effects blockbuster route.
If the "Underworld" scripts are that great, for what sounds like it could turn out to be "THE BOBA FETT SHOW" then maybe he needs to wind up the CLONE WARS animated series and do UNDERWORLD as a cartoon, i think another animated series wouldn't be dissapointing to fans as much as the live-action show has the potential to do.
Sounds like a porno.

McCallum:
...this is the best way to put it into perspective: we did Episode III—which is one of the larger of all the Star Wars films in relation to set construction, visual effects, the amount of visual effects and everything else—and that was made for $100 million which was unheard of even five years ago, because had it been made by any studio or anywhere in the United States it would have been easily double that price. So imagine an hour’s episode with more digital animation and more visual effects and more complicated in terms of set design and costume design than a two- hour movie that takes us three years to make, and we have to do that every week and we only have $5 million to do it. That’s our challenge
More of the same, soleless, bluescreen crap, then.
McCallum: It’s Empire on steroids.
This has got to win an award for most ridiculous soundbite ever.
Spoiler free for the ST
This is unnecessary. It's a bad EU cycle prequel style. But made for TV.
Soon to be on the Sci-fi channel! In the 3AM Wednesday time slot!

And yellowscreen?
Star Trek TNG used some kind of ultraviolet/orangescreen. Orange is nearly yellow...

^That's easy, it's just like Ribbonvision.
I can't wait to see the first Star Wars film made for IMIN theatres.
