Hi there.

ive had a box set that i bought some time ago ehich has the crappy special edition versions with a copy of the unedited origionals.

all the discs work fine, except for the origional empire strikes back disc. it has never played on any player. it wont even read.

there is absolutely no marks or damage on the disc.

i need to know who to contact regarding this disc.

i contacted who i got them from ezydvd, but as they dont stock this version and there have been at least 2 since and now blueray they cannot help me.

i really need to get this fixed i hate the special editions!

also i dont understand how prior to the 1997 special editions VHS versions were released stated as remastered editions which were all cleaned up and snazzy versions of the unedited origionals. i truly dont understand why dvd versions of these were not realeased... GL is going senile!

If Fox Video can't help you with this, your only other viable option is Ebay to replace the disc.

The "fullscreen" version has the original cut of Empire in widescreen, and can sometimes be had cheaper than the "widescreen" version. Keep in mind prices are creeping up now that these are all out of print.

Where were you in '77?

cheers Silver. yea i was just thinking that.

jumped on ebay and with a worldwide search there was only 2 copies. seeing that its been some time since i originally bought the set. ive got next to no chance of getting the disc replaced.

so i bid on a copy on ebay. neither had buyout... bugger!

I saw several copies on there tonight. Is it a PAL format DVD that you're looking for?

yea its Pal region 4. i'm in australia. even though almost eberything is region free nowadays doesnt always work. better to pay once and get it right them screw up and pay more.

You own the retail DVD... My suggestion is to download the DVD version of Harmy's Despecialized Edition , dark_jedi's V3 or Adywan's Theatrical Reconstruction. All better options than the copy on your broken disc :)
