Jonh, watched your latest videos. The first one is pretty much perfect, I can’t critique it in any way. I like it a lot. I really enjoyed the touch of aging Anakin a bit. It is subtle, not glaring, which helps sell things nicely without being “too much” if that makes any sense.
For the second video, It is going in a very, very nice direction. The Obi-Wan and Yoda part is fantastic, couldn’t find any touch ups needed unless someone spots something. I also appreciate the more “softer” shield. Although my choice would be to give Rey a slight glow or something other than the shield, the more subtle shield is much better than your first draft.
Anakin and Luke is looking good too. If possible, if it isn’t too much to do I would also suggest if someone could mimic his outfit as shown in ROTJ to fit more in that. Now with what you did with Anakin in this, I would be up for someone to age Hayden/Anakin in that movie in connection with this. It would really tie in things nicely. But that is an idea for another project!
All in all. This is fantastic and I am digging it. I think the main area to work on is touching up Anakin and Luke with proportions and then possibly changing Anakin’s Wardrobe IF it is feasible to do. A side note myself would be trying an alternate without the shield but more of a glow. But that is more of a personal choice on that one.

I think to “simply” the conversation regarding Anakin’s wardrobe … this picture should be the simple answer:
The last time we “see” Anakin as a Force Ghost … this was his outfit.

I would have loved to see the ghost of luke appear with kylo ren, as luke says in the last jedi … I would have liked to see coruscant, and the jedi temple, even Rey in the jedi temple … but that’s impossible hahaha …
I also wish there were no flashbacks, just like in the OT … and the movie would start, with kylo ren coming to exegol, eliminating mustafar, and those quick scenes.

and something that I would have loved, it would have been another clone of Snoke in exegol, before Palpatine’s appearance, talking, and suddenly he saw himself using Snoke as a puppet, talking at the same time…
and as much pain as it gives me, he would have killed chewbaca and lando at the end of the film, sacrificing himself for resistance. It would have been a great dramatic moment. the millenium exploding on the general ship

In the end, instead of tatoinne, or before tatooine, I would have liked to see how resistance is celebrating victory, for example on Coruscant, in which someone announces the end of the war, and uncovers some large statues of the fallen heroes of the OT, for example, at the place of the palpatine statue in ROTJ remastered
but almost all of these things are impossible to do I think 😅

It might be hard to totally replace the background, but I think it would be cool to use snooker’s mock-up of a Coruscant establishing shot where we see the Star Destroying looming over the temple. Maybe a large First Order banner could be hanging from its walls? Then, when we cut inside the board room, we could just show the cityscape outside the windows.

Hey, I’m not sure if this interests any of you guys, but a bit ago, I edited a clip of Ian, from an interview, where he mentioned on of his cut lines- specifically, Kylo was to accuse him of being a clone, and he would have responded ‘more than a clone, less than a man’.
I was thinking that somebody could try and find a way to work it into their discussions, early in the movie? We have (admittedly masked) clips of Kylo talking about clones, so it could be doable? If you’re interested, I can upload the raw audacity file.

Omni! I was just thinking about this again this morning. I wonder if it would fit well over the new shot Poppa made of Palpatine in the clone pods. Was it you that posted a version with a little reverb?
Yeah, I think idir is the only one that has tried to use it so far. I do think the clip could use more work if we wanted it to feel seamless with the rest of his dialogue in that scene.
Just wanted to throw in a slight preference for regular Jedi robes for Anakin. He’s an idealized redeemed Anakin with no need to wear black.
I say again, the ghosts are gonna be amazing to have in an edit.
No wonder I’m so surprised: all the cool stuff will be FX wizardry, not cutting footage in a NLE.

There’s the raw files. I’m not entirely satisfied with how the voice sounds, but it’s better than the original clip, haha.
