Hey all,
I need some info on the various soundtrack releases. Basically what I am looking for is the original music as performed by the London Symphony Orchestra as heard in the classic films, with as little SE tampering as possible. I have read the 1997 soundtracks are the best ones, but with so many different releases I need some help decided which to obtain. I have the old 4 CD box set, but it is not the original soundtrack, they are rerecorded cues which do not sound right to me. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, TR47. Here is another link I've found useful describing the different versions:

Regarding the original ANH soundtrack, the only cd set that mirrors the layout of the original soundtrack on LP is the Polydor 2-cd set (800 096-2).
