I have a friend named Scott.
I went with him to Epcot.
He lives in a cottage he calls a cott.
All of this was true? Was not.
For that, I’ll start a boycott.

For those of you like me who have been determinedly avoiding the ROGUE ONE ‘spoilers’ thread, I’d just like to give you a heads up about 3 recent links over there concerning the early Los Angeles world premier reactions!

Click on here if you want to find out if the general consensus of the attendees turned out to be GOOD or BAD…and don’t worry, as these are all very ‘spoiler’-free articles concerning the movie’s content overall -

(But be careful with this 2nd one, as one of the most recent trailers seems to come on unexpectantly on the page - so I had to click it off quickly) -

And now that you’ve found out the early verdict, here’s another link from over there which gives just a slight tease of Giacchino’s music for this thing. - www.ew.com/article/2016/12/09/rogue-one-star-wars-michael-giacchino-score?xid=entertainment-weekly_socialflow_twitter

I already saw the spoiler free verdict on twitter since I follow members of the Story Group, and Pablo Hidalgo loves the retweet button today. Still interesting to see though, especially when people compare their experience to those of seeing TFA and the OT.

My local theater added 9:00 and 10:00 showings in addition to the 7:00 and midnight ones on Thursday so now I can make it on the first night! I was going to have to wait until Saturday, and I did not trust myself to stay off the internet for that long.

The theater closest to me here in DC (well, the closest multiplex, there’s a two-screen art house theater that’s even closer but it was never gonna show this movie) is doing the same thing it did last year for TFA.

They’ve got a 7pm 3D and a 10pm 2D. Last year this worked out perfectly since my sister and I had an event earlier that night and didn’t end up getting to the theater until 9 anyway.

This year (and this is probably a sign that Rogue One will do way better box office than I expected) I randomly got a mass text from one of my friends the morning after tickets went on sale saying that they’d already reserved seats for the 9am Saturday Dolby Cinema at Tysons.

There’s no way I was waiting until after Thursday night to see this thing. As it turned out, one of my friends works only five minutes from the Regal in Germantown, MD … and they were still selling tickets for 7pm in 2D. He’s got a ridiculously long commute everyday from Centreville, VA, so at least he’ll be able to drive back after rush hour’s ended.

I’ve already given the tickets to him and the mutual friend we’re seeing it with, just so I don’t have to worry about giving up my place in line just to give them their tickets. I plan on getting there at least an hour early, if not more.

Thinking I’m going to have to take my sabbatical from the internet early if any more clips get released. I don’t have the willpower to be steadfast in the face of further temptation.

By this time in 2014, we’d already had a title and teaser trailer for The Force Awakens. I wonder why they haven’t released either for Episode VIII.

Not enough people read the EU.

I’m guessing to avoid confusion in promoting Rogue One. I expect we’ll get a title soon after the release. Ideally they run a teaser with Rogue One, but I’m trying not to get greedy.

I’m under this assumption as well. Fingers crossed!

Is there anyone who’s theater is ONLY showing RO in 3D on 12/16? Friday night at my local cinema in NJ only has the film in RealD 3D. Every other night has a 2D showing, which means I’m gonna have to see it in 3D – it’s a fun gimmick, but would seem distracting with Star Wars.

Regular 3D is a gimmick; IMAX 3D is an experience. It didn’t distract me when I saw TFA in both 3D and IMAX 3D and given all of the perks of IMAX I was actually more immersed in that viewing than my 9-10 other viewings.

There’s a handful of IMAX 3D showings in NYC – but would have to see it Saturday. Not sure if it’s worth the wait to see it bigger and better, or just to go to an 11pm showing on Friday night. Decisions, decision…

When you put it that way I’d just go with the regular 3D.
Plus, if you don’t enjoy the film you’d feel good about saving a few dollars.

Just almost got a spoiler about something Vader either did or how he is portrayed in Rogue One. Either way I’m getting off the internet (mostly) until I see this film.

Kevin Smith tweeted that Rogue One is “Empire Strikes Back great”.

That could be B.S. but its a hell of claim to be making flippantly.

The review embargo ends tomorrow at noon EST, FYI. If you’re avoiding spoilers, tread lightly after that.

Kevin smith also heavily praised TPM & AOTC, and he said that ROTS was “quite simply, f—ing awesome,” so…
