So we’ve got a thread for spoilers that is constantly being used right now, but instead you find the non-spoiler thread to put a spoiler in. Well done.

My bad I thought this meant spoilers for Rogue One which isn’t even out yet not TFA.

You posted a spoiler for Rogue One!

Oh I see a spoiler to a trailer to a movie that hasn’t come out yet.

By the way Han shot first.

Did you realize that trailers generally show things that will be in the movie, and if you don’t want to know spoilers, you have to avoid trailers too?

Do you know what “spoiler” means?

Yeah I know what spoilers means but anyways now I see why not a lot of people go on this thread because it’s hard not to resist a trailer to a movie we are all waiting for.

By the way Han shot first.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from this movie it’s that fucking NOBODY has any clue that the Bothan line is about the Second Death Star. Even people I’d count as nerds.

Holy crap. How do people not know?

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

END OF LINE

well, as someone who made that mistake, i would claim the fact that the longer you live, the more you realize that you know less than you used to think you did. I love star wars, but know more about many other things.

Yeah, it’s just a case of it being something that’s so deeply ingrained into my psyche that it shocks me when people don’t know it.

question: http://www.howmanydaysuntilstarwars.com/ (it has a cast picture, pretty sure that won’t spoil anyone, but don’t click it if you don’t want to see the cast)

answer: 125 days. it would be cool to get a coundown clock on this site again, i really liked that for TFA.

Great trailer, but I said the same thing about TFA’s trailers and was pretty meh about the actual movie. Looking forward to this, though.

Yeah, I need to get on that.

IIRC, we were talking about the TFA trailers in the TFA non-spoiler thread. So we can talk about them in here, too, right? I was thinking for a second to try to avoid the trailer if it gets too spoilery but just going to FB made it play automatically and all over YouTube there are images and reviews and whatever crap for a trailer, jeez.

The trailer was cool and not very spoilery. Well, we all do know what the movie is about. It really felt like a Dark Forces type movie. What did you think about the “reveal” at the end? I got spoiled with that some time ago. I shouldn’t watch any SW videos on my account because then I get “recommendations” for dozens of people who talk about their SW feelings, who cares. Anyways, I think we are allowed now to talk about it, right?

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

Because there are a lot of casual Star Wars fans out there. People who have watched the movies only like 5 times and aren’t into the lore or anything. Rarely do you find genuine aficionados these days.

I have a similar outlook with the exception of me really digging TFA but even with that noted I’m still apprehensive regarding Rogue One and the other movies to come. I’m hoping if I keep my expectations low that I’ll be impressed again.

Yes. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but this sums it up perfectly. This is a desperate time for the galaxy and not a fun romp through space.

I understand the desire to avoid spoilers, but prohibiting the discussion of trailer content seems excessive to me.

I’m happy about the reveal because the character’s appearance in the PT was brief and wasted.

I agree wholeheartedly. I’m wary of spoiler threads because they can be havens for actual leaks. I’d like to discuss a film and the official promotional material released for it without risking getting legitimately spoiled.

If you’re so paranoid that you avoid trailers than you really have no business in a thread dedicated to the film anyway.

Exactly. And if you can’t talk about the trailers there really isn’t anything to talk about until we see the movie. I haven’t seen the ComicCon reel though, and I avoided the TFA one for that too. I’ve also already seen the poster up at a local cinema, I really like it and got very excited!

But yeah, the reveal wasn’t very unpredictable but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t great because it was. He just seemed very small? I hope they don’t use the ROTS suit or anything that makes you think about the last time he was on the screen, ugh.

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

They didn’t dust off an old Artoo for TFA, and even built a new improved Threepio suit for Anthony Daniels, so I can’t imagine using anything left over from Episode III now. Heck, they could have easily used the actual burned Vader mask from ROTJ, and they didn’t.

Of course I don’t mean the actual worn suit from 12 years ago but the “ROTS version” that was used with its stupid weird helmet and non-accurate armor or anything that makes you think about that. And I almost don’t even want to go there but there better be a different guy inside. But I’m pretty confident that they avoid these mines.

Well, they managed to get Chewie right, so my confidence is high.

“Improved” ?!? The 3PO suit in TFA is quite terrible. Looks plastic.

Mine too, just trying to discuss about something since there isn’t much to talk about in the non-spoiler thread. 😃

Edit: and yeah, the 3PO costume looked pretty bland, maybe improved for Daniels.

I agree and the red arm thing was beyond strange. It’s not explained what happened to his original arm and then when Rey and Chewie are going to Ahch-To his arm is fixed. It’s a nitpick but it was still weird. At least R2 looked good.

I’m gonna have to agree with you here. Trailers are spoilers, and they should be discussed in the spoiler thread.

With the way that certain trailers completely give away too much these days, I would certainly agree with those who wish to give them a wide berth, if they really want to see a movie as un-‘spoiled’ as possible. Although the ones for THE FORCE AWAKENS were reasonably vague about things, I’m gonna try and do that with the next instalments of the ‘sequel’ trilogy. But I’m actually not too bothered about keeping away from all the future ‘standalone’ movie news, however.

So with that in mind, I’ve just stuck a ‘leaked’ version of the recent unseen ‘Celebration event’ ROGUE ONE trailer over on page 24 of the ‘spoilers’ thread only. 😉

Then you can pretty much lock this thread up because there is zero to talk about a movie that no one knows nothing about. What are you looking to find in this thread then? The trailers haven’t spoiled anything yet you wouldn’t know in December before seeing the movie.
Oh and spoiler alert: they manage to steal the plans.

I can’t believe I didn’t notice that before!

After all the ‘backstory’ attributed to the ‘red arm’ thing, is J.J. messing with us in this final shot of C3PO?..as he’s even waving his intact left arm at us all…

I demand a new all-gold TFA figure that looks like this! 😉

When I saw my first preview pic of C3PO, I initially thought it signified something to do with the ‘First Order’ - due to the fact that there’s a lot of red in their symbolism. Even the new TIES have a flash of red on them. To be honest, seeing as it had nothing to do with that theory, I didn’t care for the look of the red arm…and would have preferred if he’d been given a silver arm or black arm instead. Picky, I know.

Anyway, here’s a good link that ‘explained’ it all back then. I didn’t see this at the time, but I note from the comments below that someone did spot this anomaly in C3PO’s last moments. - io9.gizmodo.com/so-now-we-know-how-c-3po-got-his-red-arm-in-the-force-a-1770741572

And having now come across this particular article, it seems to give the unsatisfactory reason as to ‘why’ C3PO is back to normal at the end… - sploid.gizmodo.com/10-hidden-secrets-in-the-star-wars-the-force-awakens-1770455261
