Star Wars Resistance - 2 seasons into 2 movies (RELEASED)

So I decided to tackle the only serialized Star Wars TV show which had never received a fanedit. Undeservedly so, in my opinion. I went it expecting the worst and was pleasantly surprised.

My edits are:

Star Wars Resistance I - The Resistance Awakens

The first season of the show, turned into a 2 hour movie. Best watched after The Force Awakens, as it contains some spoilers towards the end. Originally marketed as a racing show, Resistance turned to be a spy thriller full of appearances by Poe, Leia, Phasma, Hux and Kylo Ren. In it, spoiled rich kid Kaz Xiono gets thrown into having to defend the Colossus, a refueling station just outside the Unknown Regions whose strategic placement makes the First Order want to keep the Republic from having it.

Star Wars Resistance I - The Resistance Awakens (short version)

The first half of my Resistance Season 1 edit, stopping right before the crossovers with The Force Awakens begin so you can watch this before that movie. It’s recommended you follow this up with my fanedit The Convergence of the Force (https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Episode-VII-The-Convergence-of-the-Force-4-hour-extended-edition-of-The-Force-Awakens-RELEASED/id/121882).

Star Wars Resistance II - The Resistance Strikes Back

A 1:40:00 edit that turns Resistance’s second season into a movie you can watch in a single sitting. Takes place between The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker.

To see any of these, email convergenceofthesith2@gmail.com with the subject “REQUEST: The Resistance Awakens” OR “REQUEST: The Resistance Strikes Back”.

Is there any content removed from the seasons or are the presented in their entirety in the 2 show edits and the film cut?

There is plenty of fat trimmed. The full length of the show is around 14 hours.

OK, thanks. I’ve never gotten around to watching the show. I have a yearly subscription to Disney+ but I haven’t gotten to it yet. I’ll at least give your TFA cut a watch. I’ll probably watch Resistance in it’s entirety on Disney+ though. Thanks again!

I’ve always wanted to do something with Resistance in the same vein as Clone Wars Refocused or Rebels Recut. Alas, life has got in the way of even remotely starting said project, but I am glad to see Resistance get some attention. It was a series that got better and found its feet after rocky beginnings. I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ve done with it.

I never watched the resistance show before. That leads me to say quite confidentially that your edit was well done. You cut out much (most?) of the show and I clearly understood what was going on. I suppose that also means the show was filled with excess filler material.

I would recommend others to watch this edit. However, this show was clearly meant for children. Unfortunately, an edit cannot fix the overtly childish nature of the show. I really liked the overall narrative of the show. It really grew on me. I wish Disney made a more adult-friendly variant of this show. It almost certainly will be similarly respected as Andor was by the fans.

I want to thank the editor for sharing this and I think others would enjoy this as well as long as you can stomach plenty of childish content.

I’ll check it out.
I tried to edit it a while back but gave up due to how impossible it seemed. Far too much silly nonsense from dumb characters imo.

The sillyness is kinda baked in. But it at least provides a little bit of context on how the first order gets systems to join them.

There are some audio issues here. At times all voices come from the right instead of the center.

Pretty much what I wanted it to be. It’s a heavily edited version of the TV series that can be watched by people like myself who want the background points without having to watch a full TV series. I kind of dig the silliness, personally. If we take TFA as a remake of ANH, this works as the cartoony and kid-friendly cousin to Rogue One.

Regarding the extended TFA, I think you should definitely reconsider the Forces of Destiny stuff. The animation looks awful compared to the other material and it screws with the pacing of the theatrical footage.
