And you've no doubt seen some flashframes and other issues... I know about these and if I continue with this have every intention of correcting.

Blimey, you need to give people more than an hour to respond before assuming we're not responding. I didn't feel like getting up right away, so I stayed in bed and read a book for a while. ;)

Anyway, yes, that section is the one that really kicks off the transition to AOTC (in the last 5 seconds, haha). You did it much differently than A-Man did, by going to the movie rather than showing a clip, then going right back to Ben's hut. The only thing I wonder about is if everything before then could sort of be tightened up a bit, especially since we all know ANH very well anyway. Re-ordering scenes is fine, but it's still like half an hour before we get to the big transition.

Yeah, I've gone back and forth on that issue. It is a long time but it's the most natural place to go back to me... It's almost as if Obi-wan gives us permission to go back... Does that make sense?

ID had the first transition during the twin suns scene which was actually a beautiful transition when I tried it myself... What do you think works best?

Oh, and I wasn't really getting ill about no responses. Just making sure people didn't forget about me. lol

Even more ideally, on the tails of his statement, the Ep. 3 space battle is perfect and it even shows the friendship. But, then, when you transition again, you have Anakin with a new haircut, and all that jazz.. Thought it might be confusing... But heck, maybe it isn't.

In Renascent, the Ep. III stuff is shown in video form only as Ben keeps talking, then it goes back to the hut. But it would be nice ifit was presented differently somehow. I wish I knew the PT better. <-- that statement is about 50.475% true

It would be funny to show Jake Lloyd flying the Naboo fighter there. Haha.

Just kidding, of course.

Part 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGdajIU0-tY

This will show you more of my work in the Ep. 2 footage, and how much I cut from the city chase... I also did color correction for the bar to make it look a bit more seedy.. It works in places, but in others I'm not so sure.

Again, feedback welcomed and needed!

First of all, try watching it with their stupid 'Transcribe Audio' option on. Hilarious. :p So incredibly useless. Everything it does is 'Backstroked.'

Anyway...I think the bar looks pretty good. I'd probably try and restore a bit more color/light into those TVs where they're watching sports, though. As it is, they all look like that messed up rear projection set at the old folks home. Haha. It's such a quiet bar, too. (not your fault, just an odd decision on the part of LFL) I think that's one thing a lot of people wanted to change, but I know it's tricky.

Well, I hate the idea of a sports bar in a SW movie anyway. If I can figure out how to replace the TV's with something else... I will.

Links still not doing anything for me Mr Ben.

I'm going to hold off watching the workprint installments until the weekend when I can give them the attention they deserve.

That's weird. Zero issues for me. Just go to his channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/UncleBenja1977) and watch them individually there, maybe?

No worries Ripplin it's my own stupid fault for attempting to multi-multi-task.

I clicked on page one thinking it was the latest page and thought the picture links were new still images.

The workprint links open fine.

Honestly I don't know how I get through the day sometimes.

What are your thoughts so far, Bingo?

Only up to part 3 at this point and it's certainly unlike 99.9999999% of Star Wars edits in terms of not just flashing back but back and forth too.

Would it work if the same percentage of people weren't already familiar with the material?

I don't know or know if it actually matters or not.

As a Workprint it's running very smoothly but I will need to sit down and watch more without dozens of other things happening in my head while my hands do another dozen of equally different things make a useful assessment.

Fair enough.

Yeah, didn't see his earlier post, Ripplin. Thanks.

Alrighty..... So.... Here it goes.

At this point in time I'm putting this back on the shelf. I took a few days to pause and reflect, and I decided it needed to end here for me. I'm trying to get my production company off the ground, and I finally got my HD cam, so I feel my focus has to shift in a new direction. I love fan-editing, and it for sure filled the void while waiting for new equipment.. But now, I need to move forward, and work on my movies instead of trying to fix Lucas'. Not to mention I had 2 people as of late show a little interest in the project and that's about it. Hopefully a-man will fix his problems and make this edit work afterall.

Honestly, I feel Ady will deliver a Star Wars saga we can truly appreciate. I have full confidence that by the time he gets to the prequels we will have actual watchable films in the future.

I'm not leaving the boards completely. I still plan to float and let my thoughts be known here and there. But this is my conviction on the subject and it's time to do this.

Anyway, it is what it is. Thanks to all who was supportive.

Sorry to hear that mr. b.  I've been more lurking than anything on this thread but I was interested.  I've just seen so many edits by now that I have mostly lost my interest in discussing the prequels.  Good luck with your (obviously much more important) company.

Sorry to hear it, but also happy that you have something exciting to work on as well. :) Thanks for sharing what you did with us. It was fun.

I too look forward to seeing what Ady does with the PT, especially since he said he's going to tear them apart. Haha.

I appreciate it.

And please don't get me wrong. I think this is an important place. Fan-editing to me is a great practice. It forces you to think about story structure, and what works, and what doesn't. Very healthy practice for anyone who wants to become a better editor. And I think I have through this.
