Glad to see this project is still going. Got to say I prefer non-red sabers for rogue (but still good) Jedi but we've discussed this plenty before. :-)
Saber ignition sound effect? Does that really matter anyway? :p
Yeah you can say that after a while in PT all the saber sounds are messed of what is evil and what is good.
You can have a distinctive sfx for good and bad guys each time you see a specific color of a saber.
So since its a white it should have a different effect. It sells the concept better rather just use the same ol same that tells another story

Yeah, not sure rogue is exactly the word for this now. Good to see you back, Brash!
Dooku's hilt is so odd that perhaps coming up with a unique power up/ power down sound would be a nice feature.
Maybe a combination of them both?
Ok I'll consider it...But does anyone have an example of what it could sound like?
While we're all talking here... I'd love to show off some of the things I'm doing in After Effects.... But I don't know how to render out a selected portion of the comp without rendering the whole movie out... Anyone know how?
Haha... How quickly the crickets begin chirping. =)

Hmmm. I made a pretty cool saber ignition sound a while back. I'll see if I can find it.
edit: Found it!!

I really like that. I may use it if that's ok.
Yeah sure you can use it. That's why I uploaded it
:)

Nice. Thanks!
My question still stands regarding rendering out a selection in After Effects instead of having to render the whole movie... Otherwise, I'll have very little show off until the release... But maybe that's how it needs to be.

Dang. I want to know what the "Oops" was.... =)
Mr. Benja, I just want you to know that I have no editing skills and therefore can provide little in the way of help with that. However, I know that you are working hard and that it can be hard to continue with a project when there is not a bunch of commenting going on. For what it's worth, you have my support and I hope you get through this as quickly as you are able se we can enjoy the many hours you've invested. This is of course not a nag to hurry up (those things are rude, I feel), but merely just an expression of my excitement over your project. Keep up the good fight!

I really appreciate it. I was also one of those who really wanted to see the Reborn project happen.
I'm doing this because I want to see this. It's been a long 2 years (I think only 2), but I think I finally have something that works. It's nothing that Reborn would have been. But I will say that I do talk to Infodroid, and I have shared a lot of the bigger ideas about this edit. So in a way his hand is very much on this. I wish I also had contact with TJDavis, but I don't. I hope he would be pleased with what will be done as ultimate credit should go to the two of them. I'm definitely standing on their shoulders.
When this is done, so many others should get credit. A lot of the ideas in this edit are mine, but there are a few that were discussed in the radical prequel thread, and some of Trooperman's ideas from SOTDS has found it's way into this edit. Very specific ideas I might add that he did say was fine if I used them.
So, while some edits I will do will be solely what I would like to see, a lot of this really is a combination of what I feel have been the best ideas on this forum. I hope it all works out.
Thanks for your comments. I hope it's completed sooner than later as well. =)

A joke that made no sense once I realized I had misread a post.
Need some feedback. I'm trying to decide if the white lightsaber is right for my edit. I love the look and want to do it. But now I'm considering it may disrupt some of my ideas. Really the idea is something for SW newbies, so I won't be spoiling anything since we all know who Vader is here.
I'm trying to make it look like Dooku could be Vader. I altered a line where Obi-Wan says a YOUNG Jedi named Darth Vader, and was able to drop the young part. Now, of course Dooku isn't Vader, but I think I want that idea to be pondered at least in this first episode. I mean, Dooku and Vader have similar fighting styles, and they talk a lot alike too. Do you think that newcomers may think that as well? And if so, do you think I should leave the saber red to push that "whodunit" idea further?
Oh, and here is the test shot that I'm referring to for those who have yet to see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_On2GFOuIc
I like the white saber a lot but if you want imply that Dooku may be Vader it would make sense to keep his saber red.
Though personally It makes more sense to me to imply Grievous is Vader because he gets into a damaging face off with Kenobi around the same time, he hunts down Jedi, he is already a cyborg and for all we know he could be young and a former pupil of Obi-Wan if you edited it right.
Changing his blades to red and maybe having him breath like Vader would push the fib further than have Dooku pretty much staying the way he is.

i second this. that'd probably be the best way of implying that Grievous could be Vader.
I don't disagree with this. In fact it's crossed my mind. The only issue is that Grievous will not be in this first episode. So I may be able to set it up so you're continually changing your mind on who this mysterious Darth Vader is.
You could do with Grevious what Jackson did with Gollum in FOTR.
You could link the talk about Vader's past to some mysterious mechanically limbed mechanically breathing monster without showing it's face or body in great detail as a sort of foreshadowing of the footage you will show in the later episodes.
You could even link him to Maul's bisection in TPM.
I'm hearing you... But not sure how to make that one happen.
