Help: looking for... Star Wars Prequel location for L8wrtr's Edits?

Hi, I’m new to the site, and I was wondering where I can find and download the fan edits of the prequels (Shadow of the Sith, The Republic Divided, and Dawn of the Empire) created by L8wrtr. I’ve looked for a decent amount of time, but all of the links I’ve followed have led me to either reviews or information about the edit itself.

I would absolutely love to watch them and, if possible, burn them onto a Blu-Ray disc. Is there anything anybody can tell me about that would help me do this?

Thank you

Great, thank you. Sorry about that, I don’t know how I missed your response, I’ve been looking for 2 hours.

One more question though, and sorry for the inconvenience, but how do I go about converting the rar file to a watchable AVCHD?
I pressed download on site, it gave me one rar file, which I then thought to extract, but then I got a folder containing 4 files: “L8wrtrEP1AVCHD.dlc”, “L8wrtrSOTSDVD5.dlc”, “ReadMe”, and “SOTS BD.dlc”.

Was I supposed to extract the rar file? If I was, what do I do with these new DLC files?

You need another program to extract the links from the DLC. I use jdownloader2, I guess there’s a better/newer program for this but I can’t remember which it is…Free Rapid Downloader or something like that. Someone else can concur/correct.

That BD was uploaded by someone else, I don’t know if the links are live or not. But the AVCHD links definitely are.

You need to download and install a program called JDownloader.

Each .dlc file is basically an encrypted list of a series of files that have been uploaded to the cloud somewhere (say, MEGA or some such). Import the .dlc file into JDownloader and have it download the files it locates.

When they’re all downloaded, just extract them, and voila.

If you use jdownloader, make sure it’s jdownloader2. I’ve heard the original is full of spam/malware.

And make sure to turn off all options for sideloads (right term? not sure) which also is full of crap you don’t want.

Wow, thanks for the fast and detailed responses, I really appreciate it!

I’ve used FreeRapid Downloader for the Harmy OT Despecialized Editions. You said that program should work, right? However, I’ve only ever used URL links to start up the extract the files.

How do I do this if the DLC files aren’t URLs? Is JDownloader2 simpler, should I just download it to save confusion?

I haven’t used FRD but I would just drop the dlc into it and see if it automatically parses the links. That’s how JD works.

Nah, I can’t figure it out, I’m just going to download JDownloader 2.

Hi, so I installed JDownloader 2, and opened it. When I did this, my DLC file icons turned into JDownloader 2 icons. I thought this must be a good sign.

I tried to do what you said and drag the DLCs into JDownloader, but they wouldn’t go in.

I then tried to simply open them. When I did this, three info boxes popped up in the bottom right corner of my monitor, showing a bunch of data, but I don’t remember exactly what it said. I believe it had something to do with URL links and finding stuff online.

After it finished doing this, three files popped up on my JDownloader 2 screen, the three DLC files I specified earlier: “L8wrtrEP1AVCHD”, “L8wrtrSOTSDVD5”, and “SOTS BD”.

Everything seems okay, however, this is definitely the longest process I’ve had to do by far. So far, it’s only loading 1 file, the first file, “L8wrtrEP1AVCHD.md5”. No progress has been shown, no bytes have been loaded, and the ETA is now 3h:14m:45s.

I think I know the problem (there isn’t one), but I just want verification. I’m assuming the ETA is the countdown until I can download 5 more gigabytes of content since I recently downloaded 5gb using Mega today.

Is this the reason why nothing is downloading? If so, how long is the timer? I’ve heard 6 hours and I’ve heard 3.5 hours.
Also, am I able to let JDownloader 2 run for however long this takes, or do I have to come back every few hours to reset the download in some way?

Should I save all three folder files, “L8wrtrEP1AVCHD”, “L8wrtrSOTSDVD5”, and “SOTS BD”, to the same location on my computer, or separate folders? Does it matter? If not, what would you prefer to do?
What are the differences between each file? Do I need to extract them all to burn to a Blu-Ray, or do I just need to extract the “L8wrtrEP1AVCHD” DLC file?
One more question, after JDownloader 2 does its thing, will it give me the necessary files to burn to Blu-Ray, or are there more steps after this one?

Thank you so much for the help, I honestly really appreciate it. So far, this community is the most helpful one I’ve ever experienced.

A lot to chew on there.

I’m not sure why dragging the dlc over didn’t work but regardless if you’re seeing a list of rar files in JD, it’s working.

Also not sure on the countdown timer but yeah it’s probably a MEGA download limit, as my account is a free one.

You don’t have to do anything, you can let JD sit and it will start when able.

When all the rars are downloaded, JD might compile into burnable files depending on your JD settings. If not, you can use a free extractor like winrar or 7zip to compile the files.

I don’t know anything about the BD, but the AVCHD has to be burned to a DVD-9 (double layer or DL) and played on a DVD-9 compliant player (I believe any Blu-ray player can do so, many/most DVD players also). The DVD-5 has to be burned to a DVD-5 (single layer or SL) and can be played on any player.

Once you have burnable files extracted out of the rars you can use a burning program like imgburn to get the movie onto a disc.

Screenshots may help with additional questions you might have.

Oh yeah, the md5 file is just to make sure the downloads were successful. You’ll need a checksum program to use it but I can’t remember the name of the one I use. It’s probably an md5 for the AVCHD since I usually upload md5s.

“L8wrtrEP1AVCHD”, “L8wrtrSOTSDVD5”, and “SOTS BD” are the different formats. You only need one.

BD is a Bluray-size image (ie. too large to fit on a DVD).

AVCHD is a Bluray-like format that is small enough in size to fit on a DVD9/DVD DL (or double layered DVD). As it is not DVD format, many older DVD players can not read it, but many newer DVD players and probably most if not all Bluray players can.

DVD5 is single-layer DVD format.

You only need one of those. Frink says he uploaded the AVCHD one so he knows it works, but if the BD one has all green checkmarks under the “Availability” column, and you wanted that instead, you could get that one instead. But you definitely don’t need to download more than one format of the three available.

I’d be pretty surprised if the BD links are live since IIRC many people have asked for a reupload (I don’t have the BD myself) but I could be wrong.

So if I want the best quality to burn onto a Blu-Ray disc, the way to go is “SOTS BD”?

All of the Rar files are online, so I assume I can download all of them with no problem.

Just to be clear, I can download just the “SOTS BD”, extract the “part01” file using 7zip after JDownloader is done, then burn it onto a Blu-Ray disc? This will give me the best quality?

Also, do you know how big the file will be? Is the final file size simply all of the Rar files combined (ie. if each Rar file is 200mb each and there are 77 files, I need a disc that is at least 15.4gb, or in other words BD25)?

The RAR files will be compressed a bit, when you have them all and extract the final files you’ll end up with something along the lines of 20GB. So yes, that will require a BD25.

Sorry, one more question.

Out of curiosity, for MEGA, if I were to buy a PRO plan, would I be able to download more than 5gb at a time? I’m just curious as to how it works. Do the downloader and the uploader have to have pro plans or just the downloader?
