dark_jedi, I'm pretty sure that I have the actual 2nd '93 ANH PCM audiofile that you seek in wav format, if you want me to upload it for you, let me know. The wave file is named: 01_DC48DVD & have a Moth3r.SFV file included.

If I remember correctly, it has suddenly very low dialogue when the tractor beam pulling the Falcon in to the Death Star, something that is not apparent on hairy_hen's recreation or Gout audio.

We want you to be aware that we have no plans—now or in the future—to restore the earlier versions.

Sincerely, Lynne Hale publicity@lucasfilm.com

Yes I would like to get it and take a listen, because the file that was uploaded to the groups is completely useless to me, I can't do a damn thing with it, the sfv file ALWAYS comes up bad.

(That really bugs you that I poopooed your earlier ones doesn't it? )

Get over yourself dude, you don't mean anything to me, let alone bother me, just can't believe you are following this at all.

Then why bring it up again when I've made it clear at least twice before that I am following it? If the script changes, which it has, then my problems with the previous scripts will have also changed, especially when the audio options expand as well; not too hard to follow.

Jeez dude, at least let me compliment you without you bringing that up. :p

So can someone upload the file DM uploaded already decoded to wav or put it to FLAC?

Author

So I downloaded the file, and the command line wavepak program...

had a fun frustrating time trying to remember how to run command line programs...finally just dropped the .wv file onto the decode.exe and BAM, it decoded it and its CRC checks out.

DJ do you want me to upload it still? It will take all night...but if someone is already doing it or if you got the file to decompress I dont want to waste my computer time.

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

I was just thinking, as good as the '97 LD DD 5.1 audio sounds wouldn't it be a good alternate audio if that could be edited to the GOUT? I am in no way bashing what hairy_hen and Satanika are doing but I am not sure if they are using any of this for there 5.1 upmixes, although I could be wrong, I do not read every single post in every single thread LOL.

I am just really, really impressed with the '97 5.1 audio, really sounds fantastic, at least to me.

and as far as an update on this project, I am still checking all audio PCM's I have, and still waiting on the same things as before, so nothing really happening as of yet sorry to say.

The LFE (subwoofer) channel from Hairy_Hen's 5.1 upmixes use the LFE from the '97 LD 5.1 and the '04 DVD 5.1, depending on which sounded better for each scene, adjusted for volume to pack a little extra punch I believe.  You'd have to ask Hairy_Hen directly, though.

I think it'd be an interesting experiment, but I'm not sure what you'd do about things like Mos Eisley or Lapti Nek.  Splice in an upmix, I suppose ...

Can't disagree. I like the rumbling bass of the '97 audio.

I know it probably is not the greatest idea LOL but I really like this audio, it really sounds good, it seems to really take advantage of ALL speakers, also Lapti Nek I am aware of,but what is the Mos Eisley part you speak of? and if I did try something like this I would need to know all the differences so I know exactly where to look.

D_J, though we're working together on the IE, I don't know a damn thing on your GOUT versions. Why are they so appreciated (seems) ? What are the improvements (noise, contrasts, colours ?) ? What else ?...

All that I understood is that you work with other mixes, and made the GOUT theatrical...

I Thought it was the right place to ask.

Well g-force's scripts really improved the image(with what you mentioned and other) and it is made anamorphic(16:9) and they will have all the available audio mixes for the first time ever, no other set can say that, I am sure other people will chime in and tell you how nice these are, and 1 might comment about how it is not, but the ignore feature here is great for that.

If you like the Theatrical versions of each film this is the set to get, I think the only way this set can be beat is by only GL himself releases them.

Hope this helped somewhat LOL.

I see... Perhaps you should find a place (a topic) to sum up all this to present it the right way then. Maybe a feedback thread considering the current one is mostly for help and technical discussion. Just a thought. Cause as you can see I had no idea of what are your projects. lol

I know I may have sounded like an ass to a bunch of people around (and even to myself!) pushing a little pressure for feedbacks, but it's the only way to let people know what's in the box when the preservation forum is such a mash of diverted projects, and I have no regret to have done things that way to let any one knows "this" has been done. ;)

Anyway, bravo, and maybe I'll download your projects one of these days if I'm patient enough with the downloads (3 days last time I did with J Downloader for one DVD!).

There's a lot of info and discussion in this thread:

Thanks Mielr, I'll ckeck it for sure.

My only grip about such threads is that it is for the technical "elite" only. A lot of the "preservation" forum threads are more apparented to the "technical discussions" sections 'imho', and if it's yet quite difficult to follow such discussion for someone who is a stranger to tech ways, imagine for the non-english that I am.

Well, I guess one have to accept this particularity and give the effort it requires to find out by himself ... :)

Other than the english issue, that's exactly how I feel about your music threads! ;-)

So basically, your GOUT v3 set is going to knock everyone else's out of the water? Okay then I'm definitely sitting it out until you finish and release this one :) I downloaded ROTJ GOUT v1 to ease the waiting pain until then :)

I agree for the OE thread, as we spoke a lot for msycamore.

For the AE all the "technical" is concentrated in the OP with only the basis of what is to understand to know what was wrong at the origin with some recordings... And please note: I just explain the best I can in order to avoid any further questions about my ways. I discovered all that the time to restore the ESB score. Otherwise, I'm only an EQ's player and only one time I spoke about remastering recently cause I had a couple of pm's about this. Worth to notice, Hairy_Hen's (for exemple) rich comments on the sound and his potential are sometimes way beyond my vocab, even in my language ! Haha. I don't know a damn thing otherwise my friend. We always learn.
