Did Team Blu release 97SE versions of ESB + ROTJ in 720p? only found ANH
Hi guys,
for years now I was looking for the SE97 on DVD, that I would be abble to put on CD. Two years ago a member of the forum was kind enought to send me a link (from myspeen I think) for the famous SE. As the image is not that good (probably from the laserdsic), I wonder if the there is any good version of the SE97. Plus, there is a sign on the right corner of the ROTJ the all film long (like a blue square).
If anyone would like to have those version, I can share it (just indicate me the way, I am not very good at this).
I also have a very bad version from the laserdisc of the original version.
About the despecialized edition, I have the 3 movies but the end of the ROTJ (with the 97SE music, cause I don’t stand for Yub Nub, sorry 😃 ) is slow and finally crash. Is there anyone how could share with me a despecialized edition of ROTJ on mkv, with the ending song from 97, that don’t crash ?
Sorry for my english, I am from a galaxy far far away 😉
When you have to shoot, shoot ! Don’t talk.

Can someone PM me the download links please as I can’t see them on the forum.

I’d be very greatful if someone could do the same for me as well! Sounds like an ideal 1997 version 😄 I’ve been looking for one for EVER.

Hello. I am dying to have the 1997 Special Edition of the Star Wars Trilogy in Blu-Ray quality, so may I please have those? Thank you.

I’ve been looking for a copy of the 97 releases as well.
I can’t even find Laser Disc rips out there.
I don’t have a MySpleen account and can’t find these versions on any torrent site anywhere.
If anyone can help me out, please do.
It seems like I’m not the only one looking…
If I recall correctly, Team Blu only released Star Wars 1997; it seems to be difficult to track down outside of the Spleen. I don’t think they completed ESB 1997 or ROTJ 1997.
However, Harmy made his own Star Wars 1997 called the “Respecialized Edition”. The thread for it is here:
https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Harmys-STAR-WARS-Respecialized-Edition-97-AVCHD-and-MKV-now-out/id/16682
To download it, follow the link for the “Ultimate Guide” in the first post of Harmy’s main thread for Star Wars here:

As for ESB 1997, Adywan released a nice version in both MKV (14 GB) and AVCHD (8 GB) formats. Both are available on Usenet by searching for “adywan 1997” in the NZBKing search engine. If you haven’t used Usenet before, I would recommend NZBGet software along with a free account from the “free-usenet” provider. It might take you a day or two to download, but hey - it’s free!
I am not aware of any ROTJ 1997 versions out there other than Laserdisc rips.

Thanks for the Help Bluto!😃
Hello. Have you finished the 1997 Special Editions of Episodes 5 & 6? If you have, then may I please have a copy of each, along with a copy of the 1997 Special Edition of Episode 4? Thank you.

Which thread title? I don’t think it’s even there.

That was sarcasm. And usually reading the recent posts in a thread can give you some answers (this one isn’t even two months old):

That’s disappointing. The altered ending is one of the few changes in the entire trilogy that’s actually not bad, and of course it hasn’t been seen in its original form since the DVDs came out in 2004. The extra scenes they’ve added to it since then completely wreck the pacing.

Yeah, I kinda like the 1997 ending to Return of the Jedi. You get this nice music in combination with different planets celebrating the end of the Galactic Empire. That ending is the perfect connection to the then-upcoming Prequel Trilogy. This ending will be the basis for the ending sequence of my animated Ultimate Edition of Return of the Jedi, meaning it will follow the 1997 Special Edition (Sebastian Shaw as Anakin’s ghost, how it’s supposed to go!!!). In my mind, the Special Editions of the Original Trilogy should have been left alone as they were back in 1997 and I am wanting to have those Special Editions in Blu-Ray quality. I guess I’ll just have to wait until Harmy does a Respecialized Edition '97 of both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Both the MKV (14 GB) and AVCHD (8 GB) versions of Adywan’s ESB 1997 are already in full HD (1080p). The former is slightly higher quality, but the latter is suitable for burning to a DVD9 disc and playing in a standalone Blu-ray player.
The colour-correction used makes Hoth very white (i.e. the snow has virtually no blue tint to it), making this presentation rather unique.
Interesting. I assume you’re talking colour-correction and not his complete Revisited.
“Before the Dark Times. Before the Prequels.”
I am referring to his 1997 version when I say that Hoth is very white.
Here is a quick comparison between the 1997 and Revisited versions:

There was a long debate somewhere in this forum a few years ago regarding how white/blue Hoth was when seen in the cinema in 1980. If I recall correctly, the consensus was that there was actually a blue tint, albeit not as much as on the official Blu-ray.
