We've been able to successfully download and extract ROTJ'97.  I just need to re-upload about 5 gb worth of rar's and some new par's and it will be possible to extract the files.  There is no hope for SW/ESB'97 so those will get an entirely new upload.  There's been some bad storms here for a few days and the electricity is going out randomly so I'm going to wait until it stabilizes before attempting to post anything.

There's IVTC scripts for JSC sequels
ROTJ
ESB
I'll post them on usenet too, after I tackle ANH.

Like my ESB alpha version posted here last Spring,
each time pulldown() is called I've also given alternate parameters in the comments.
The difference is in the handling of 3-field frames.
You can choose to keep the first 2 fields or keep the last 2of3.
With ESB I followed althor's choices. ROTJ is mostly arbitrary.
As always, use a text editor with fixed-width font

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

Thanks for sharing your scripts! This is great for me.  I had not even approached ROTJ yet.

BTW, I have uploaded, downloaded, and confirmed TPM-RAW so anybody wanting to get that should be able to.  Mileage might vary but in any case I now have enough HDD space to keep all of the archives just in case somebody needs some parts.  Also, Jbinup seems much more stable and modern than powerpost imo.

The 82P&S raw files are next up in the chute.  I have already created all of the files and will probably make them available in a few days. This is the only capture I have that I captured my own sound for.  Before anybody decides they want it they should understand that there is a lot of noise on side 1, both video and audio. Side 2 seems rather ok for such an old release though.

With a little bit of luck I am finished with posting the raw captures. The JSC trilogy,'97SE trilogy, TPM, and the 82 P&S are all finished.  I will be keeping the archives for at least a couple of months in case anybody experiences trouble getting them. SW'97se and ESB'97se have been re-upped and it says so in the title so don't get confused and try to get these 2 unless it says REUP.

The JSC trilogy currently has ivtc scripts for ESB and ROTJ which Mallwalker has generously provided. I was going to start on SW but I believe it is better left to him.  His ivtc scripts come with all sorts of awesome stuff like reel info, gout frames, etc.

The '97SE trilogy all have ivtc scripts that accompany the raw files. These are complete by my standards.  For some reason I can't recall, I included the laserdisc and thx stuff at the beginning.

TPM also has an IVTC script included in the archive.

I've tried to IVTC the 82  P&S but the cadence is crazy and I can't really figure it out.

Does anybody have any plans to do a JSC release derived from the raw caps?

Yes I believe so. This time I have saved all of the archives so it shouldn't be a problem.

For most of the movie, the pattern is
...2 2:3:2:3:2:3:2:3:2:2:3:2:3:2:3:2:2:3:2:3:2:3:2:3:2 2...
In other words, 25 frames comprise 61 fields.
It's IVTC-able using ...doubleWeave.selectEvery(61, ...plus twenty-five parameters)

Reel6B is the exception to that rule.
Seems like the masterers were worried that reel might not fit on the end of Side 1,
so they cranked the speed up a notch to squeeze it in.
It's faster than the rest of the movie.
I haven't cracked the pulldown cadence for Reel6B yet.

JSC ANH script is almost there

Is there a link?

Thank you sirs!

The raw captures are available on usenet.  They are about 60gb's each and have no sound.

Since Mallwalker's scripts are gout synced I made a 720p avchd with menu's and chapters for ESBJSC.  I used the audio tracks from the U.S. gout disc.  It weighs in at 7.5gb and looks pretty good imo. I've tested it on my PS3 slim and everything works fine.  Is there any interest in something like this?

Once Mallwalker is finished with the SW IVTC script it would be pretty easy to release the JSC trilogy this way.  If somebody else had plans to do something similar just let me know and I'll gladly stand down. The only thing I would plan on doing is to adjust the black and white levels, cropping, and resizing to 720p.

To me it would be a real Miracle is someone made JSC for ROTJ watchable.

Don't know if its how it was filmed but every single home release i have seen looked overly soft.

The 2011 special edition makes the unaltered scenes look sharper than any other version but i have wondered was is sharpened artificially in computers?

Another anomaly in the ANH Special Collection telecine is a missing frame when the Falcon is coming out of lightspeed in the beginning of reel 4 - "Cut in the sublight engines." One of the frames gets repeated replacing another one. More specifically, see the dirt on Han Solo's sleeve when he is turning the switches.

Thanks so much for all your work on this Mallwalker.  I wish you luck on cracking the cadence on reel 6 of the 82 P&S!

If anybody has successfully snatched any of the raw caps please let me know so I can start deleting the rar's and par's that I have backed up.

Star Wars: "COLD" Edition is now available as an mkv on usenet too btw.  I have posted my script here. It is the same process as the other 2 examples above if you want to generate it from the raw files yourself.

I'm basically finished authoring the BD for the JSC trilogy. It's pretty simple with no motion menus.  I'd like to include an information page though. Does anybody have a synopsis of information about this release?

I've not made a cover either.  These are the 2 things I would need help with before it's finished.

Here's a couple shots of a couple menus.

Suggestion: Alter the perspective on the crawl a little bit so that it looks like it's flying into the distance.

Don't do it too much; just enough to serve as a subtle nod to how the crawl appears on-screen.

Thanks for the info.  I'll be able to use a little bit of the stuff there.  I'd use those pics if the resolution were a bit higher because they are without the obi.  They are only 300x300 though :(.

The crawl thing I can mess with and see what I can do.  I seem to remember a page somewhere that had information on the angles of the different crawls. I've got gimp installed so that should be an easy thing to do.

Thanks for the tips!

That sounds like a good plan. I'd love to get my hands on some nice high resolution shots of the JSC set.
