Yeah they are done, I forgot to mention that :)

Wait.  My brain just woke up... do you mean the ducked commentaries are done and already in the updated existing archive, or done and waiting for the rest of the tracks to be done for a big update?  If it's the former, I feel sooo sheepish.

Wait... should I re-download from MySpleen? Is it updated there?

I just took a look (didn't download, but checked date and NFO) and it doesn't appear updated.  I may have caused a panic, sorry.

Haven't heard anything from schorman13 since September.  I hope he's okay.  Anyone know?

No, but his profile indicates that he was last logged-in on 12 January of this year.

V2? Eh? Details?

IIRC, schorman13 has been working on a v2. It's a substantial upgrade and will include bit-perfect rips of many other SW LD releases.

I'll let schorman13 fill-in the details. ;-)

I just wanted to post here that I am finalizing version two of my LD audio archive.  I will be including all of the raw rips, audio files for each mix synced to both the NTSC and PAL GOUT discs, original Adobe Audition multitrack files for each synchronized mix, as well as a couple of new additions.

At this point, I'd like to include synchronized versions of the 1997 SE mixes for ESB and ROTJ, but I think I may include those in a future update, as I'd like to eventually make them work with Team BLU's discs.

As far as work left, I pretty much just have to organize files and finish the synchronization of the TPM 5.1 mix, which, I'll do without re-encoding.

Ok, I finished the 5.1 track for the Theatrical TPM.  It's synchronized with the DVD at each of the side changes.  In total only about 1.4 seconds of audio (44 ac3 frames) has been patched in from the theatrical DTS mixes.  The entire rest of the track is untouched ac3 direct from the LD's.  It's perfectly seemless and you'd never recognize the transitions.

I will be getting the files organized and sorted this weekend and ready to post this week!

I'm scared to ask.  How big will this be in it's entirety?

Luke threw twice…maybe.

The last was ~6GiB. We can probably come up with an estimate by working from that value. :-)

I'm not finished outputting each of the finished mixes, etc.  But I should be able to give an estimate within a day or two.

Yikes, just checked the size for the nearly complete folder for upload size and it comes out to 91GB!!  I may have to break this up into a couple of separate torrents.

Right now I'm working on some preliminary syncs for the 1997 TESB and ROTJ's to complete the set.  Then I need to create a short users guide with directions on how to bounce tracks in Adobe Audition, to make any changes to the various tracks.

I'm including a few somewhat redundant tracks for TESB and ROTJ.  I think it's been pretty well established that Empire and Jedi were never remixed the way Star Wars was, in 1985.  Either way, I've included mixes obtained from the various different LD sets, regardless.

So, there are mixes of TESB and ROTJ obtained from the Japanese P&S set that yielded the 1977 Stereo mix for SW.  There are also versions derived from the Japanese SC and US SWE editions that yielded the 1985 mix of SW.  Finally, there's a version of Jedi taken mainly from the digital track of the first US pressing.  This one has more dynamic range than the Japanese P&S version, which was included mainly because the other two films' theatrical mixes are derived from that same set.

Anyway, I should be uploading by the end of the weekend!

Cheers

Wow, 91GB! If you're looking for ways to break this up, you could do per-movie, or break it down further by per-mix-date.

Looking forward to hearing that digital theatrical Jedi mix (and many others, I'm sure)!

schorman13: Have you considered uploading it to Usenet (a.b.sw)?

I'm still so excited for this! Thanks for all of your hard work. Your contributions to this community have been invaluable.

I can upload to usenet, but I'd like to put it on myspleen first.  I haven't posted anything for a while.  What's the best program to post with these days?

Anyway, everything is ready to go, but myspleen seems to be down.

Well, while I wait for myspleen to come back, I thought I would post the pdf I made as a guide for Version 2.0.

Enjoy!
