Lucas beat him to it by not adding a breathing motion to See Throughpio in TPM.

Han accidentally finding himself in a system with one inhabited planet, the main city of which is being run by the guy who previously owned the ship he is sitting in, is the sort of galaxy shrinking coincidence that Anchorhead doesn't like and he likes bees.

Maybe the fleet travelled quite a distance with the Falcon sitting on the back of The Avenger (without anyone else in the fleet noticing it)?

Drones of the Empire don't get paid to look out the window. There doesn't seem to be any windows on the back end of a Star Destroyer either. ;)

Why is it that Darth Vader is taller than Anakin Skywalker?

Because he's more machine now than man? The real question is why did they let Hayden wear the suit in ROTS.

He is wearing platforms.

Strange how he grows out of them over time though.

I suppose he gets new legs in some off screen adventure.

Why does AOTC show Windu with a purple lightsaber when the EU clearly showed that he had a blue one?

They never follow the action figures.

Why do blasters sometimes sound like handguns?

Who does Jabba's makeovers?

Why is there a space potato?

Where in the hell is the phantom ROTJ flying shoe?

Perhaps to apologize for the awful romantic dialog?

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

Just a quick list of things that bother me about the consistancy (or lack of) within the saga:

1) "THE Jedi who trained me" - Obi Wan says this to Luke in reference to Yoda.  But the PT shows that Obi Wan was Qui Gon's Padawan learner.  Ok, Yoda could have trained him as a youngling, but the word "THE" instead of "A" seems to imply otherwise.

2) Leia having memories of her mother, even though she died in childbirth.

3) Owen/Obi Wan having no memories of Threepio/R2.  And R2 having no memories of Tattooine or the Lars family.

4) "A thousand generations" vs "A thousand years".

5) Obi Wan telling Yoda that Luke was their "only hope", even though he witnessed first-hand the birth of the twins.  Maybe the original plan was to have Obi Wan only have knowledge of one baby?

6) The massive variance in fighting styles between OT and PT.

7) Luke having dream-like feelings (memories?) whilst on Dagobah.  Ok, not really an inconsistancy, but the dialogue seems to point at something that maybe should have been expanded on in the PT.

8) Vader trying to convince Luke to join him to overthrow the Emperor, then changing his mind and saying that he "must obey" his master.  Why such a sudden change of heart?

9) The original Death Star taking 20+ years to build, whilst the second only took several months (even though it is MUCH larger).

10) Obi Wan telling Luke that his father wanted him to have his light saber when he was old enough.  I don't buy this as another lie.  It was something that should have been shown in the PT, but wasn't.

11) "I will become more powerful than you could possibly imagine" and then........nothing.

12) "Idealistic crusade" - what exactly?  The Clone War was not a conflict based on idealism.  And "crusade" seems to imply a conflict based on religion.  You could argue that this refers to Jedi vs Sith, but this was never made public knowledge (the general public do not know the true nature or identity of the Emperor).

 Spoiler free for the ST

Because the films don't have to agree with the EU...and because Samuel Jackson didn't write the EU.

 Please help me out:

Questions are...raised regarding the durability of lightsabers under atmospheric conditions. Obi-Wan's is damaged in The Phantom Menace when it gets wet on Naboo, yet Luke's continues to work despite being plunged into the Dagobah swamps...

Did I miss this scene/event?

He wades through the water, but I don't think he went deep enough to submerge his saber.

They each went deep enough [under water] to get their sabers wet.

I just don't remember Obi-Wan ever having a non-functional saber (during TPM) at any point.

That's because it never happened.

I believe it was meant to happen but never did.

Remember the footage of Obi-Wan doing a Martin Sheen (I wonder if that will turn up on the bluRay)?

I believe that it was intended that his sabre would short out and Qui-Gon would tell him off about it in the same way that Anakin gets earache from his master in AOTC.

Correct me if I'm wrong here.

Even so it didn't appear in the final film so it's a mute point.

Something that always bugged me in Star Wars are the holographic transmissions.

For some reason the "hologram person" often looks right at the eyes of the person he speaks to. And this is not always possible.

Let's suppose Obi is speaking to the Jedi Council, shown by little hologram in front of him with all the members. Once we see the scene FROM the council chamber, seeing Obi Wan turning his head right and left depending to whom he's talking to is not possible. Because Obi don't see the council members as big holograms all around him.

I know Star Wars is not pure Science Fiction, and this is a way to not loose the audience too much, but it's wrong, continuity wise.
