I can try to rip these discs, (my drive is a bit unforgiving lately, but they do play fine on my player)

They’re just straight settop caps off a near-pristine set (says drfsupercenter who ripped me them), they’ve got the Maltin interviews, the FBI warning, the whole 9 yards, they’re good quality but just a scad blurry. (what’d you expect? they ARE vhs rips after all)

For the record, I had him use the disc images from here, he sent them in a plain envelope.

If there’s interest and I can pull them off the dvd+rs I can try to torrent?

Why not! I have been thinking about doing VHS capture myself... but my VHS died about 3 months ago and I don't plan to buy one in the near future.

You might as well relabel these Pan & Scan VHS2DVD. And this is an offer I'm going to refuse.

I prefer OAR myself but for a whole decade I saw the movies many times in FS and only once (and not at all ESB) in WS. So it's the FS version I'm familiar with, even though the WS is the better one.

I trust Molly is already familiar with the Pan_and_Scan concept.

I'm not sure whether she's aware that during her hiatus from these boards dark_jedi has already preserved this set.

Many of us old-timers already have that version. Had it not already been preserved, I suspect more people would have expressed interest in this kind offer.


Molly, are your versions progressive? Have they been IVTC'ed ?

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

It's a raw, unprocessed cap (30 fps). I'm not sure drf would know IVTC from a hole in the ground Still, it looks good on my standalone player and his first try at ANH looked nice on my PC (besides blurry subs).

Jeez, this drive's getting worse every day. Come the 1st and my check, I *am* buying a new DVD drive. :/

Again thanks to drfsupercenter for ripping his hardly-ever-touched VHSes, this dvd folder is good quality video.

*sigh* my computer's been unstable yesterday, think it's the usb keyboard and the fact I was (until this morning) torrenting off an external. (I don't think my computer likes USB very much.)

A friend offered me space to torrent the next dvdiso from a fast connection, so I only have to upload once and torrent away in the background. ESB might be run that way.
