Star Wars : Episode XII (Fan-Edited Trailer)

Well as far as a full fledged fan-edited films go some of you guys have completed some awesome work. The fan edits I found here inspired me to take on my own project, although it's not as ambitious as an edit of the films I think it may still count. In an effort to create a faux (but authentic looking) trailer for the Star Wars Sequels, I manipulated existing footage (from films that I own) and added Star Wars characters in order to humor the fans. It was an exercise for me in film editing and special effects and I think i've found the perfect place to share it. I'd like to know what you guys think about it so please share your thoughts. Unfortunately to keep the video brief I had to cut several shots, including one with Obi-Wan's Force Ghost so I plan to follow up one day with another video. I worked on this on and off for a year and it's only 4 min long so I can't imagine how long a film film would take you guys! Anyway, hope you don't mind me sharing, cheers!

I'm confused. 1,000 years later than what?

I'm certain that the story could be clarified but the first few shots were supposed to be from the Old Republic. More specifically the Bane era. The very first shot is the Sith Holochron. A thousand (or so) years later would place the rest of the story 100 years (or so) ABY. I figured this timeframe would prevent it from messing too much with the existing timeline. In all honesty though I left some story details very vague in an effort to encourage discussions. Additionally i'm not very up on the expanded universe but researched some dates on wookiepedia to get a general idea of where certain events took place in the timeline. My quick flash of the cloning facility indicates that some of these guys are clones, the same goes for Luke who appears in a few scenes. And the Dark Jedi who supposedly died on Degobah in the cave comes back as the primary antagonist. He has the same power that the cave had, the ability to exploit your worst fears. Far fetched I'm sure but I had fun with it.

Nice work! I liked Christian Bale with Qui Gon's ghost at the end. Loved the crashed Falcon and the sight of AT-ATs in the desert and "Directed by Christopher Nolan" too!

You'll have to explain the Wookie scarecrow thing though... what the?!

I'm very glad you enjoyed. The wookie shot is the mighty Chewbacca's demise. I put the shot in there to indicate that he dies in this, albeit fake, story. I know he does die in one of the books but I recall fans weren't too fond of how it happened.

Actually, if Chewie had to die in the books, then being crushed by a planet was a pretty good way to die.

Not saying that being tortured in a burning effigy isn't a fitting warrior's death though.

Anyway, I'd just ignore the EU.
