*** POTENTIAL SPOILERS. READ FIRST ***

did you read the title of this thread?

Meh, there are different degrees of spoilers and degrees of spoiler avoidance. Some people in this thread probably don’t even want to know the damn characters names.

The red carpet thing was an official starwars.com event, and they specifically did it spoiler free (from a reasonable person’s point of view).

edit: never mind, this was essentially stated exactly one line under the text you decided to quote:

*** ALL THE FOLLOWING VIDEO MATERIAL WAS TAKEN FROM THE STAR WARS OFFICIAL YOU TUBE CHANNEL, THESE MAY NOT BE CONSIDERED AS SPOILERS SINCE IT WAS PUBLISHED OVER A OFFICIAL CHANNEL, HOWEVER THE DEFINITION OF ‘‘SPOILER’’ CAN BE SUBJECTIVE AS WELL SO IF YOU ARE AVOIDING EVERY BIT OF INFORMATION UNTIL THE TFA PREMIER THEN DO NOT PROCEED. ***

The first line of his post was “*** POTENTIAL SPOILERS. READ FIRST ***”. Should you really post something that requires that warning in a thread with the words “**NON SPOILER THREAD**” in its title? I doubt it.

I think he was just being careful and polite by calling it a possible spoiler.

Two moderators posted after that and were ok with it, apparently. Maybe you just should avoid this thread too.

I guess its ok then. But why should I avoid this thread? Spoilers aren’t allow in here, right?

The point is that spoilers are relative. There was also nothing directly stated in the post itself. The mods have previously stated that links are fine, if properly labeled. But it’s irrelevant in this case, as there are no spoilers.

But again, it’s relative. Hal9000 just left this thread because someone posted a 100% spoiler free review which essentially said: the movie was fun, I think you’ll enjoy it but I can’t tell you anything specific yet.

As Frink said, he was just being polite.

If you consider that an actual spoiler, then you should avoid the thread.

CNN reporting twitter accounts for those who have seen it. No spoilers and no detiled reviews but initial impressions are in. Positive is an understatement.

We should start a betting pool for when a badly subtitled bootleg leaks onto the net.

I’m amazed that the movie didn’t leak early this time around.

I’ve seen it! (This morning, in France; it’s officially out)

It’s great. It’s truly great. Don’t be afraid!

Don’t worry, my fear has already led to anger.

Spoiler: Kylo Ren’s lightsaber is actually rainbow colored, not red. You’ll love it!

Just saw it (in France). As someone who hates NuTrek, the prequels and doesn’t have too much love for ROTJ: it’s awesome. Not perfect, but just awesome.

How spoilery does the review get? I started reading it, but after seeing how long it goes on (i.e., a real article instead of a blurb), I imagine there must be enough substance to refer to specifics…

Light spoilers I would say. Nothing that gives anything massive away. Perhaps I should have posted in the other thread.

It’s pretty spoilery. Avoid.

I’ve seen a couple reviews (neither I’d really trust, though) that say TFA is better than ROTJ. I can easily believe it’s better then ROTJ:SE, and am open to the possibility that it may even be better than ANH:SE, but if it actually surpasses any of the actual original trilogy, I’d be very pleasantly surprised and may give it a rental after all.

Then again, one of those reviewers also said ROTS was the best of the prequels, so that’s pretty disqualifying. Still waiting for more reviews to come in (mostly from friends).

I would say it equals or slightly beats Rotj (original). Like Jedi, it stumbles from time to time, but it’s still a great film on the whole. Go see it in theaters!

I hated the PT in theaters, so this isn’t just SW nostalgia. Ironically enough, it’s the nostalgia that bogs the film down the most. Its original content is great.

Btw TFA now has a score of 94% on rotten tomatoes. The same score as ANH.

It seems that RT scores are frequently biased high in the early hours. In fact, it was 97% two hours ago.

But the % on RT should be considered for only what it is. A percentage of people who said it was good and not rotten. It doesn’t take raw scores into account. So, for instance, a film that is mediocre but enjoyable will have a far better score than something that stratifies audiences into people who adore or loathe it. Something with 2.5 stars across the board will have a better score than a film with nearly all 4 star reviews, with a couple people who disliked it.
