I thought you were trying to keep this spoiler free. I hadn't even read that. I think I better avoid even this thread.
I wasn't planning on making the jump until the next trailer, but the particularly strong warning on the last bit of news startled me enough.
I have a guess about which of the big three would be most likely to bite it, though I'd rather not read about the specifics ahead of time. There's just no way to imagine what it would have been like to see the three-hilted saber for the first time in the teaser trailer, rather than beforehand online. The moment was less of a, "whoa, what's that?" and more of, "oh, so that rumor was true."
Forming a habit of kneejerking away from spoilers will be tough. I didn't do that at all for the prequels, since we knew what would happen broadly already.

Just as a heads up, Hal, those who are particularly conservative when it comes to spoilers might object to that second sentence. Sure, it's not specific and there are probably *titles* to spoiler articles that say as much, but it's still passing along vague info from the supposed info leakers. Some people might not be aware of even that.
edit: beat me to it.
I read that Han, Leia, Luke, Chewie, Lando, R2, Spock, and the new droid all die.
Where were you in '77?
Apologies. I will tread lightly here. But I'd wager Spock dies at the beginning, and it turns out to just be a training session.
I'm still 90% sure all the "spoilers" that we've heard so far are BS, but I don't like seeing them all the same. I'm jumping ship on the spoiler thread too, now.
So, what do we do in the meantime?
Sit here and chat. How are you Hal?
About ready to call it quits for the night, but I have tomorrow off work. Wondering if its too early to start inviting people over for a staggered Star Wars viewing as leadup to Ep7. Starting in June, one film a month. Also in need of Star Wars themed drinks. Not necessarily all alcoholic.
As a user with 'boredom' in his username, how have you been feeling lately?
Pretty good, thank you for asking. Already watched Ep. 4 and 5 today. Might get around to 6 tomorrow.

Blue milk shouldn't be too hard, as long as you have food-colouring. ;)

Interesting. So the story for the ST apparently came from inside Lucasfilm and not from Abrams/Kasdan. Can't say I'm encouraged by this, especially since Kiri Hart hasn't written anything. I wonder if there were differences between Arndt and the Lucas story group, and that's why he left...

“In the future it will become even easier for old negatives to become lost and be “replaced” by new altered negatives. This would be a great loss to our society. Our cultural history must not be allowed to be rewritten.” - George Lucas
I'm still not entirely convinced they completely abandoned George's outline. Modified sure but the fact that the name Kylo Ren is a George name is evidence that they've at least kept parts of it.
Also, I'm glad that the ideas for the ST aren't coming directly from the filmmakers. Especially Abrams. He's never cared for story as evidenced by the writer friends he's employed and helped break into the industry.
I have a lot more faith in the Story Group which is made up of people who have been deeply involved with Star Wars for years than I do random outsiders.
As for Hart, she sounds like the go-between for the Story Group and Kennedy and everyone else.

They're all over the internet. These seemed like some of the more palatable.
I thought Cock Tails was Lucas' new film about the gay squadron in WW2.

Left up to his own devices, Abrams would probably write five Death Stars into the story, each capable of obliterating a planet with bursts of lens flare. ;-)
"Directed by JJ Abrams, Story by... someone else" sounds good to me.
Can someone start a JJ hate thread and move it all there?
Somehow I completely missed that article from October.
It certainly doesn't gel with the stories we've heard about Abrams going in a completely different direction from Arndt's screenplay.
Maybe there were just certain beats Episode VII's script had to hit?
Good thing most of these spoilers only contain certain grains of truth, the only thing I know for certain is that Stormtrooper guy will be defector.

This is the spoiler-free thread, meaning that people who come here do so with the hope of seeing no spoilers, not just less important ones.
If anyone brings perishable food items to this thread, there will be spoilers regardless.
