Why not make the Hutt Empire the main adversary of the ST? It'd be interesting to see the Hutts invade the fragmented Empire/burgeoning New Republic and try to take control of their worlds. Frankly, it'd also be cool to see armies made up of Hutts who like this

This is a brilliant idea, duracell! I cannot put into words how much I love this idea!

You two have a strange sense of taste. This looks utterly ridiculous to me.

Our tastes are different, not strange. There's nothing strange about a difference of opinion.

I think Empire as an enemy is completely out of scope for EP7. After 30 years even the imperial remnant would die off.

Part of the Empire could have gone into hiding.

I'd rather have it be a mistery/thriller plot involving some elements from the past, thus having the investigator (Luke) revisit places from the OT, probable looking for something Vader left behind. On his way, he could find young children strongly sensitive to the Force. As a secondary story, the New Republic is being reorganised.

And I strongly believe in the end it will be something like that, because it's the first movie of a new series and they will have Vader be present somehow as a reassurement. They won't be totally revolutionary. Besides having Luke get into his father's life is character development and fan service at the same time, and above everything, it would be a movie middle-scale as the OT is, not the super-grand-epic-213612876389127 warriors-running-the-same-way the PT is, and full of nostalgia for the Empire era.

For Gods' sake no! The ST would be wall-to-wall CGI then. With the greatest will in the world you can't do whole armies of imoveable puppet Hutts.

Yes, I see what you mean. Perhaps the Hutts could just serve as the commanding officers instead, with the lower ranking soldiers made up of various slave/servant races.

How about Boba Fett? Since we're talking about Jabba, and rumors floating around the he escaped the Sarlacc pit, if done right he could easily show up.

I wouldn't mind seeing Boba, as Robot Chicken made him seem cool again. ;)

So long as they don't get into how he survived, and have him be a "good" guy, so long as the New Republic keeps the money coming. There could be a lot of tension if Han had no choice but to work with him.

I'd prefer they kept Boba out of this. While the focus has shifted away from the Prequels, the consequences of them can still be felt. Any depiction of Boba Fett would inevitably be portrayed or at least voiced by Temeura Morrison.

Instead, let's get a new mysterious character to be intrigued by.

I'd like to think J.J. would change the voice back. With all those doohickeys in Fett's armor, there must be a voice changer. ;)

Alternatively, Boba could just be completely silent, removing the need for any type of voice.

This is what worries me.

I want to see Boba come back so badly in the new films. So badly. In fact, with the popularity of the character, I feel like it's almost guaranteed that he'll be in it somehow.

But I just know that thanks to the AOTC, he'll almost inevitably be voiced by Morrison or Logan, and that will kill me.

That said I could always just redub the lines myself when I can get the Blu-Ray...

Duracell makes a good alternative point, though. Maybe the sarlacc damaged his vocal chords or something? Of course, that also makes me wonder if they go that route that they'll do some stupid half-cyborg version of Boba which would be stupid. I dunno. It's a complex issue for me.

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

Well to me it seems a bit ridiculous to have a 60 years old grandpa fighting around as bounty hunter.

1. Obi-Wan's age didn't seem to be a problem.

2. Boba could always get himself cloned.

1. Obi-Wan was a force user therefore his age-impaired body ability was partially compensated by the force. Still he was rather "clumsy".

2. Oh please... no more cloning crap. And I never understood why would anyone clone himself? If you clone yourself that doesn't mean you will live on in the new body... However cybernetics could work but I think a mercenary like him would be able to retire and enjoy by then.

There's always the Dread Pirate Roberts angle, which would explain away a lot. ;)

Much as I dislike the idea of Boba coming back, this wouldn't be so bad.  I wouldn't even mind a rehash of the Holiday Special in the sense that they trust Boba in the wrong situations and almost pay the price... it would certainly make Boba a compelling character again.

It could also be Carrie Fisher's chair. ;)

I'd love it to be also, but the size of the font is larger than Harrison's and it starts further into the chair.....I think it must be CAST as Tim says

......or could it just be CARRIE :)

I've never seen a generic name on a chair on a movie set. It's often been a point of contention in Hollywood as to who merits getting a chair with their name on it. It's one of little perks of being a star that isn't accorded to just anybody.

How does everybody feel about old Han going with a beard? (Not saying he is from that photo, it just brought that thought up).

It might be cool, like an old cowboy vibe.

Oh and...

...just because it's awesome (And is somewhat relevant to the topic under discussion)

The beard diverts attention from the rest of his face and from the fact that he's getting really old, and it makes you almost forget that he'll be needing a walker by the time Ep VIII gets released ;) Seriously though, I like this look for an older Han Solo. Clean-shaven he looks like grandpa, but this is fine.

Beard would be nice for previously stated reasons and to differentiate from old Indy, but I was hoping Luke would have a beard, and I'm not sure if I'm okay with both of them.

Also this might not be from the Star Wars set. I don't think hey've begun filming with actors yet, honestly.
