OK… so I saw this film recently and I just wanted to say “THANK YOU!” I really didn’t understand how simply editing a film with pre-established shots could make it better but OMG!!!
Right out of the gate there is a change made at the end of the Dooku fight, which COMPLETELY changes the tone and feel of who Anakin is that A) Makes more sense, and B) Fits better with his character of Darth Vader in the future. (Trying to avoid spoilers by spelling it out!)
Your use of a deleted scene and reordering of the political intrigue… COMPLETELY fixes the “broken feeling” that Revenge of the Sith had. This feeling was so strong, I immediately told my wife that since said cut scene exists, that I’m honestly thinking there was a cut on the editing room floor that probably REALLY WAS much closer to this fan edit!!!
For example, I remember watching the moment when Anakin turns to the darkside in the theater very clearly for ROTS. And Palpatine basically says “The Jedi’s move will be to hunt us down and kill us.” Anakin says “I agree”. I remember it like it was yesterday because my brain screamed “THAT MAKES NO SENSE FOR ANAKIN TO AGREE TO THAT??? WHAT KIND OF HORRIBLE ACTING AND DIALOG IS THIS!??” But when I watched your version, same lines, SAME DIALOG… all of a sudden Hayden is “doing it right!” and it makes perfect sense!!! You’ve made Hayden a better actor!!! You’ve made him a better actor because his motives now makes sense!

That aspect of LOE is something I don’t think I’ve really found in any other edit, of trying to somewhat replicate and approximate the earlier ideas before they did reshoots to emphasize Padme’s impending doom. Corigar’s edit sort of did this, and I thought it dovetailed well with the idea Q2 went with of showing Padme to survive the events of the film.
If you’re curious, I’d recommend the chapter on ROTS from ‘The Secret History of Star Wars.’ You can also listen to the commentary track on the edit itself.

He was after the footage with my grading applied, which I sent to him via PM. The care package has it free of color correction.

Yea, what’s going on with fanedit.info? Are they just reworking their website, or did they run into legal issues?
As far as I know they had some server issues. But they seem to be offline for a very long time for a simple server issue.
I gotta hand it to you, this actually felt like a Star Wars movie. Worth the watch.
