Not a final version yet as I'm still not happy with it when the droid speaks for the second time. I have quite a few different sound files to play with though so I'll have a more thorough stab at it soon.
The subtitles I intend to add will explain that Anakin did come back to free Shmi, but left to become a Jedi. I'm seeing the droid as a disgruntled servant much like Kreacher in Harry Potter, so he won't be very friendly.
Having such a rude protocol droid may explain why Owen has "no need for a protocol droid" in ANH ;)

The idea is good, but the voice is too low / deep. Protocol droids tend to have softer voices.

I don't know... I mean, yeah by design it probably shouldn't sound like that... But when you look at this droid and the way it looks like it was put together with chewing gum... I can accept it has a rigged up voice... I can believe he's become a Mr. Potato Head of sorts at this point in the game.

Well considering that this is Tatooine and a lot of parts are scavenged, one can assume droids are cobbled together from disparate parts - old vocoders from widely different droids etc. That's part of the charm of Tatooine. It's gritty.
Also we've seen 3 protocol droids in the saga, all of which have different voices, so I don't see it as a problem. Try not to think of 3PO when making a judgment on the voice. I just want to know if it works as the voice of "A droid".

I love it and as for the voice I think the sound bite is perfect where is it from KOTOR????
maybe break it up a bit as if there is grit in there make it sound more scratchy!!!

Yes it's from Kotor. It's the voice of a Duros. There were also Rodian and Bith voices to choose from (who also speak the same language - I guess they were lazy with the alien dialogue)
I'll play around with some audio filters and see if I can achieve the desired effect.

it feels like its missing something, I always thought the emperors theme should play here as he was the only one from the Dark side present.

I agree with that. That was spoiled pretty quickly in the trilogy. They didn't work very hard to mask that detail.

I've just gone through the entire thread. (this is ANOTHER one I've always been subscribed to, but had to resubscribe to because I stopped getting notified for some reason...)
Anyway, from the first page: "Recolour ALL lightsabers blue, except Dooku's which will either be green (to mirror luke's)"
I may have seen this before and forgot to ask: is there supposed to be some connection between Dooku and Luke? I know Dooku is supposed to be more ambiguous in his loyalties in this edit, but why green? (I'm thinking just because it's not blue [good] and not red [evil]. Yes/no? Heh.)

The logic there is that Dooku would be the first Jedi we see with a Green saber, so it's more ambiguous. One could say he could be seen to be walking the grey path rather than the narrow and dogmatic way of the Jedi or the oppression and subjugation of the sith.
Then when we see Luke with a green saber too, we think back to dooku and how he failed and we wonder if Luke will succeed.
Nevertheless, I'm still not sure about what I'd prefer. I do like the idea of ROTJ being the first time we ever see a green saber though...

You could always try the non-canon "yellow" saber for Dooku (which pops up in many fan films).

If I will be going with another colour for dooku, it'll be orange just to be different from all the other edits - JasonN's purple, Magnoliafan's yellow, etc

You could very bold, and just make his saber pure, neutral white. Other than that, orange seems like you're only possible option.

White would require more work than anything, especially removal of color. Think of all the interactive light, for example.
