How do you actually watch this? There’s a dead link to iTunes and a YT trailer without it hosted… this is… disappointing.

Here’s a nice little re-cut that I noticed in TM2YC’s edit of Episode II.

ATTACK OF THE CLONES:

OBI-WAN: Just relax. Concentrate.

ANAKIN: What about Padmé?

OBI-WAN: She seems to be on top of things.

TM2YC:

OBI-WAN: She seems to be on top of things.

I thought this brief exchange was re-cut nicely in his edit. It improves a bit of character banter between the trio.

I don’t understand; what was changed there?

The scene removes the first two lines and just have Obi Wan look up and say the line? I don’t get it personally.

Obi-Wan and Anakin’s first two lines in the scene are removed. It now plays out with Padmé climbing on top of the pillar, and Obi-Wan looking up to his right at her telling Anakin, “She seems to be on top of things.” This is how the scene plays out in TM2YC’s edit.

Sorry I gotta ask, how does it improve the banter between the trio when you remove the banter?

It’s not removing the banter, it’s just an act of trimming away two of the three lines to help the banter come across better.

But banter is, by definition, a back-and-forth kind of thing. Removing the other lines means it’s no longer banter.

I know, but Obi-Wan is still interacting with Anakin as he takes notice of Padmé’s actions of climbing on top of the pillar. Just making a suggestion. Check out TM2YC’s edit to see how the scene plays out.

I don’t think Obi-Wan’s line is improved by removing Anakin’s. Sorry; I don’t see myself doing that. Thanks, though, for suggesting it.

That’s alright. Just something interesting to point out. TM2YC also revealed the Jedi the same way The Phantom Editor did by digitally painting out the lightsabers in the background in one shot of Dooku.

That’s interesting. I’ll have to check that out!

to be honest I think that Clones can be improved 100% if you just remove every single line that isn’t crucial to the furthering of the plot.

It looks like L8wrtr sequenced the droid factory scene about as well as one can, so my ‘pitch version’ will be pretty similar. Though, I hope I can get the music to feel smooth. Granted, the music is a hack job to begin with.

One of the reasons I haven’t showed anyone my AOTC edit is because I’m not done yet, which is almost entirely because I’m trying to rescore the droid factory scene to make it musically coherent. Needless to say, it’s a pain in the ass.

Same goes for the battle of Geonosis plans actually (though my rescore won’t be as extensive, because I don’t hate myself that much).

Interesting. What music do you have in mind for the factory? Or are you patching up what’s there?

Would someone be able to do a little sfx work to show Anakin lightsaber blade retracting/deactivating (when he’s surrounded by droids and Jango) since you’re probably not going to keep the destruction of his saber ? I have no idea how hard it would be to do so. Just throwing idea 😄

“I have to say that I felt George’s group of six films had more innovative visual imagination, and this film was more of a retrenchment to things you had seen before and characters you had seen before, and it took a few baby steps forward with new characters.” - James Cameron about Episode VII.

I’m hyped 😃

So you don’t think that Yoda’s theme in a scene where Anakin is slashing space bugs is coherent ? 😄
