I tried it with winzip and 7zip.  What did you use?

I just watched this edit, and it is quite masterfully edited! It doesn't get nearly the praise that it deserves. It's so perfectly edited, that I almost forgot how bad Hayden Christensen is, and I totally forgot all the childish droid antics that were seamlessly edited away.

Seeing as how you are putting together a v3, I'll just drop a little nitpicking in here that I typed down while I watched it.

- Near the 25 min mark, there's an awkwhile line from Anakin about "R2 being with us", followed by an awkward laugh. It's gotta go. :P

- At 28:30, there's a green discolouration in on the left (in my 720p version at least).

- A glitch in the audio in the same scene at 29min

- It's a personal opinion, but the Geonosis trial-scene around 1:14:15 is unneccessary, and out of place. It doesn't look very finished, and it makes the narration very busy as Anakin and Padme goes from the meeting with Dooku, to the trial and then to the arena; all in under one minute.

- At 1:16:41 , why does the "archduke" call his subjects infidels?

- And finally another personal opinion that you obviously disagree with. I'd have the whole Dex scene back rather than having the bounty hunter in the beginning tell them about the Kamino System. I mean, why would the bounty hunter just give up everything like that? It's just too easy.

Thanks for the feedback, especially about A/V glitches. I'll check on them for sure. Can you post a screencap of what you mean?

The trial scene is gone in V3 for the reasons you described, and scenes reordered to accommodate the change.

The "infidel" subtitle is an homage to MagnoliaFan's edit, because I found it so funny.

Green line at the extreme left. Seconds after this, there is a skip in the sound as the audio changes drastically. I'm guessing this is due to combination of a deleted and an original scene.

Hmm, well it still doesn't make a lot of sense. :)

Huh. I had to zoom in on the deleted scenes by 3% anyway, so I'll see if that doesn't need to be increased slightly. Weird. Is the audio glutch at the point the scene changes? I'll check on it tonight.

And do you have an alternate suggestion for the subtitle? "Settle down, settle down" is lame.

Yeah it's at a scene change (still at the platform, but with different video quality. I don't recall the original version here, but it appears this second part of the scene wasn't a deleted one). I checked it out again, and it isn't really a glitch, just a noticable change of audio quality. It was a lot more noticable when using headphones than speakers.

And do you have an alternate suggestion for the subtitle? "Settle down, settle down" is lame.

I don't have any specific suggestions, but at least something along the lines of "settle down" gets the point across without actually calling his subjects unbelievers for mysterious reasons.

Fixed! It seems like I forgot to apply that 3% zoom to two clips for V2. I do not hear anything wrong with the audio, though. The landing platform scene is 100% a DVD deleted scene, and none of it was originally in the film. (At least it wasn't a glitch per se, and had a known cause.)

CAPTION CONTEST! Whoever suggests the best subtitle before it's time to hit 'encode' wins. Subtitle to beat is "Silence, infidels." Original is "Settle down, settle down."

"Silence, workers!"

"Attention, geonosians!"

"Quiet, my subjects!"

Or any combination of the above.

What about Silence, scum!

I like it because people are called scum a few times in star wars so it doesn't feel out of place.

My entry would be simply "Quiet down!" or "Silence!"

Even a evil leader wouldn't call his subjects in a derogatory way in my view. You don't want an uprising.

I'll probably go with, "Silence, laborers." It's not derogatory per se, but implies something about this insect world's class system. The "scum" idea isn't bad, but it'd be nice to have something different.

And hey, I'll take suggestions until it's time to mash the button.

Am I the only one who didn't see an issue with "Settle down, settle down."? It fits the scene very well.

I agree. It doesn't really have to be that exciting as long as it's understandable. It's just on the screen there for a second.

But hey, as long as it makes som sense, consider me appeased.

It's settled then ;). My official vote goes to... "Settle down, settle down."!

lol, well nothing is set in stone. Someone's working on something for me first, but as soon as it gets to me I'll mash the encode button and get going. Expect Ep3 about three weeks after the first version of Ep2 appears, because it takes a long time to encode each one.

EDIT: This new icon feels so liberating. Gone is the Hal9000 fisheye that makes me feel like I should try to be eloquent. My real name is Kirk anyway.
