Or maybe easier: A reflected shot hits the ceiling, smoke comes down, the Droids keep shooting, when the smoke clears the jedi are gone.

hmmm, that could work. Lemme try that.

Actually before we start anything Hal, if your’e there do you want the force speed removed?

If you can pull that off I’d be glad to use it.
Will V8 be available on MySpleen or is it better to request a direct link here?
Should be already, and I’ll PM you.
Yup, the smoke has the best chance of feeling natural. Literally minutes before this moment they already use the toxic gas to their advantage to do a surprise attack.
You might even be able to create the impression that they escaped above/below by leaving a circular lightsaber mark behind - a la Ahsoka and Rex Order 66 or the deleted scene from ROTS when Anakin and Obi-Wan do this move to escape Grievous.
If this could be fixed that would be awesome. Literally no other form of Star Wars media has used this ability since 1999, from what I know.
Should be already, and I’ll PM you.
Thanks!
Just got back from Disneyland with a six year old and an eight year old. They’d like to watch the prequels but I can’t force myself to watch them. Hoping this edit is at least bearable and hopefully even entertaining. Would love links to be able to try all three prequels if possible.
PM sent
Since the Speed Force scene is on the table, I have a suggestion for that opening fight if you ever go back to edit it again. When the doors to the conference room open and the Battle Droids look at each other in anticipation of the Jedi, I think it might be good to add a more audible mechanical whirring sound (like when droids move their limbs) when the captain droid and his subordinate nod to each other. The reason is that without the droid dialog in its current state, it seems a bit too quiet and either makes the CGI characters feel like they aren’t really there or draws attention to the fact that audio has been cut.
Additionally, I think as soon as the lightsabers light up in the smoke, there should be much quicker cut to the droids firing, because at the moment there’s about a full second (in the 6:03-6:05 timestamp range) where the droids just stand there doing nothing awkwardly (because originally they were waiting for the captain to give orders), which kills a bit of the tension and excitement of the action and again makes the cut audio too noticeable.
I’ll make a note of it for the moment!
Hi @Hal9000 could I get a PM for the trilogy please? Have a couple of friends I want to introduce to the series correctly
Hey Hal! Super excited to see Cloak of Deception! Would you be so kind to send me a link?
We’re not worthy! 😁
Hello, this sounds like exactly what we should have gotten the first time, on both the prequel and sequel trilogies. I would love to see them all, would you kindly share a link to me as well?
On the topic of the speed force scene, I tried my best to fix it only using the shots that were available. Can’t tell if it works tho.

I have a dumb username
Omigosh, this is the motherlode of sensible improvements! Thank you HAL9000 for opening the pod bay doors! I actually went and grabbed everything Star Wars, and I’m glad I did. I like your judgment calls, to go light on some films, and heavy on the one. I’m especially surprised at what an improvement your cut of Rogue One has, since you largely fix the one issue I have with it - the janky CGI faces. But long story short, I’m just saying thank you. I can now watch these movies without cringing.

Honestly this is totally good enough. If it can be improved beyond this, excellent, but great work.
totally preferable to the original
Hi Hal9000 - Would I be able to PM me with a link? I’d love to rewatch your prequel series with my family this holiday season. Thank you!

Yup, good enough unless somebody is willing to bless us with new VFX.
Hi. New to this site and just wondering where I can see this revised Episode 1?
One of my main reasons for signing up here was to ask if anyone has ever made or even proposed edits I’ve been thinking about, which I believe would go some way to salvaging The Phantom Menace.
These are basically sound edits - Namely, entirely replacing Jar Jar and the rest of the Gungan’s voices and using a deeper tone and alien language. This would allow all Jar Jar’s dialogue to be replaced with something more credible delivered via subtitles.

The Anti Cheese Edits have done this.

Hey, thanks! Just checked that out on YouTube - Certainly a step in the right direction there. But he’s still speaking in English, with (a New Zealand?) accent.
I think having an alien language and the freedom then to alter dialogue would go even further.
Inspired by JeromeTheEditor, I thought I’d give this a shot too.
Here is my version of the speed force run removed. Pretty simple edit, I removed Qui-Gon moving to a defensive position after Obi-Wan sees the destroyers, so it appears they are fleeing all along. And Obi-Wan moves to the right, so I mirrored the shot of them going into the ventilation shaft so that it is also to the right.
