Hey Hal, I was listening to your commentary for this edit and you mention the removal of Jabba from the podrace scenes due to the world shrinking nature of the prequels. However, he seems to be left in the HD version I am watching. Was there an edit before where you removed him and if so what was your reason for reinserting him the final edit? Love your edits and hearing your commentary, I was just curious as the commentary does not seem to match what is on screen in this instance.

Yeah the first version had Jabba gone, but I realized it’s not consistent with the overall sensibility that one would have already seen the OT while watching the PT (which the films themselves clearly share). The first version was watched with a relative who’d never seen SW and was young, so I think that biased me toward tucking Jabba away as a surprise.

And the commentary tracks I have manually adjusted sync with subsequent versions so there are a few things like that which don’t match.

I’ve managed to find copies of Episodes II and III, but no luck finding Ep. I. I’d love to see it. Is a link available? (I’ve read you have been working on an edit of Return of the Jedi, but I think it’s not done yet?)

Hi everyone, I’ve run into an issue and wanted to see if I can get any help. I’ve read the FAQ and it touches on it but I’m still having a problem.

I’ve downloaded all three 1080p movies and moved them to an external hard drive so I can watch them on my TV. Episode I works great but I’m only able to hear the audio commentary track on episodes II and III. Like the FAQ says, I can change the audio tracks in the settings when I play the movies on my computer, however when I get into the audio settings on my TV it only says “Single Track” and I don’t have an option to change it.

I’ve tried a few different ways of changing the audio track but haven’t figured it out yet. Has anyone else run into this? If so any suggestions?

I’m not sure why that would be. I suppose you could try remuxing it to only include the main audio track.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I’ve been trying to mess around with an editor app. We’ll see if I can get it figured out.

It must have been a faulty download, I redownloaded II and III and they work perfectly now.

Watched episodes I and II this weekend, loved them both so much- especially II. The romance was so much better, the Jedi don’t seem like complete idiots, Obi-Wan doesn’t look like such an a hole to Anakin, and you removed the Yoda lightsaber fight! I always thought he should be above a lightsaber duel.

I’d love to get a link as well. My kids have never seen the prequel trilogy and I’d to like show them something that isn’t ridiculous. (And something that I can enjoy watching as well.)
