I know this isn't the original trilogy, but I figured you guys would appreciate this being released and would want to know. Give me some feedback on the record!

For the very first time ever on vinyl, I Am Shark, will be releasing the original soundtrack to Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, scored by legendary composer John Williams.  This will be part one of three, continuing on the latest trilogy soundtracks, as well as I Am Shark's new face as an independent label for Film/TV/Game soundtracks. The release will be in 2xLP format, with limited color versions coordinating with characters through out the movies.

50 limited bundle packages will be available with all colors/pressed versions, one random winner will receive a test press version of the album (only 10 test press copies exist).

Pre-orders are now available through I Am Shark's web store.

As much as this is an advertisement and as much as it's the prequels, I think we can mostly agree that we're really glad to see this happen. If you can, eventually, get AOTC's soundtrack released, the way Williams wrote it (particularly the finale), we'd be even happier.

But gosh this is tempting.

The prequel soundtracks on LP would be an exciting prospect.  Then you could have all 6 Star Wars soundtracks on LP.  If you can get the unreleased music released for Ep. 2 and 3, that would be even better (but you're going to have to press more copies!)

What are you talking about? The soundtrack of Episode I was released on LP.

Nice, Ill probably get em. That would be a real coup to get episode 2 in its full original version, whatever that was. I bet there's complications there, though. (If they get to JEDI that will be pretty cool, it should have been a double album back in the day but wasn't).

Was the CD version different? I'm just starting to looking into the variations of the Episode 2 now and the full plan. Love the input!

Also have a favorite color variation?

Yeah basically we made them as a prequel set. So had to release Episode 1 again to get 2 and 3. Those picture disc versions weren't pushed very hard and I thing they are kinda ugly too

As I recall, the CD version is the same as the film, with a chunk of Imperial March inserted into the finale, removing other things Williams had recorded as part of the finale, such as a big intro into Across the Stars. Something like that. The original version's never been released.

So what you're telling me is that one of my favorite cues is actually longer and better and I can't get it?

Argghh!

I hated that Episodes II used tracked in music from episode I rather than what was written for the film.  That music is still unreleased.
