Ok so to complete the set of ESB errors, it has been identified that there is a sync issue for Building Empire on the ESB doco disk. I’ve removed the torrent from the spleen, and will be re-upping asap.

Sincere apologies for my errors and the wasted downloads. I’ll be taking more time on ROTJ to try and ensure the same thing doesn’t happen again.

As far as I can tell, it must have been an Encore burn issue. The source video and audio are the same length and in sync when loaded into PP. Curious.

EDIT: Fixed Doco disk is now seeding (slowly) on the spleen. Will upload to MEGA now too.

Mainly just posting here so I can keep up to date on the thread. I don’t have the data allowance to get this set as it stands, but I should be able to grab it later in the year. I’m also working on a case design for the set, which I’ll share here when it’s done. Planning on two- and three-disc versions as well as a four-disc set including these plus Ady’s Revisited for completists. Any other suggestions or requests?

I hope i am not spamming your thread njvc. let me know if i should move this elsewhere.

Here is what i have done with phildesfr’s covers so far:

(Note, i did these for the 50 GB versions, and haven’t included anything about the Documentary disks)

Star Wars:

Empire Strikes Back:

RETURN OF THE JEDI:

Download includes disc covers and other sides of the insert/leaflet at 300 dpi: https://mega.nz/#F!Y0g13C6A!sHwfcwb09H7VSV0prLUgJg

JEDIT: added ROTJ, and minor updates to all inserts

You posted the ESB cover twice, but it’s so damn beautiful it warrants a second viewing. Excellent job!

oops, fixed. all i did was painstakingly track down all the linked elements that Adobe Illustrator refused to find, and edited all the audio/subtitle track info / special features. the overall design was done by phildesfr.

They look brilliant Dahmage. I’ll be grabbing those for sure. The details of the ROTJ disks will be available really soon, I’m doing test builds and quality checks at the moment. yet to edit down the commentaries though, so still a way off being ready to upload, but can post the details of the disk itself soon.

One question: The subtitles column looks like it might be in the ‘fold’ area of the leaflet. Would it be worth moving it slightly to the left to avoid that?

Make that two questions… Can you tell me what font you used for the leaflet?

thanks! (like i said, i am standing on the shoulders of giants here :p )

It shouldn’t be in the fold, but yes it is probably way too close given the spacing, i may move it left more. It used to be a two column subtitle layout so i got rid of the left column to leave more room for the audio tracks, but that leaves it looking cramped.

Make that two questions… Can you tell me what font you used for the leaflet?

Hah, yeah, i will check on that. I laugh because it took me forever to find the source fonts that phildesfr was using on this.

The font is Futura Std, Medium Condensed.

JEDIT: auto-correct changed the font name, fixed

These are gorgeous, I’ll definitely be burning the set when ESB 2.5 is out. If and when one of the several 1981 crawl projects comes to fruition, do you plan on redoing SW with seamless branching?

No, I’m content with the 77 crawl for this set, but I will certainly redo the Empire disks when 2.5 comes out.

BTW, the fixed ESB Documentaries BD25 is now up on MEGA. PM if you would like directions.

The 81 crawl should be able to be swapped in via MultiAVCHD if you’d prefer it.

Some people call them Force Ghosts. I call them Midichlorian Swarms.

Eh, if it’s one of the other I guess I’m good with 77, I’d just hoped a disc this size would have both as a feature.

The SW disk is packed to the brim with commentaries and special features, so no room at the Inn. But there’s obviously the SSE with the branching option, and I believe Darth Lucas is working on a version with branching too.

Absolutely loving these discs! Once the set is complete, these are going to become my “official” set. One minor note on the ESB 50GB from myspleen, the on-screen menus list the commentary track as “Laserdisk” commentary instead of “Laserdisc” commentary. Obviously not worth an update by itself, but it would be great if that could be corrected in some future version.

Awesome work Dahmage! If you add disc art for the Documentary discs it will be perfect.

Thanks! I’ve fixed that error in my Jedi set now (good timing, as I’ve been making final changes), and will fix it up in ESB once 2.5 comes out.

I’ve also been working on disk art using the same amazing set Dahmage has used. Here is a very simple design for the Documentaries disks, and for the bonus fanedit disks that I will be including in my finished set.

Bonus disks?!

Nice disk art. Question, should the case inserts mention these other disks? (not a whole lot of room unless i shrink or cut existing text). should the leaflet mention them?

Author
Time

I’m not expecting others will want to include the bonus disks, they’re more for “me and my friends” really, but of course anyone who wants that art and to include them is welcome to.

I’ve been working on a variant of the back cover of the leaflet to include info about the 3 disks. The art you made is perfect, so I don’t really want to mess with that. Will post the concept when I have it.

A quick grammar nazi question - is the “disk” a typo or one of the examples of US English vs. UK English?
