There's a few landscape covers (Labyrinth for example) but It doesn't have anything to do with the age of a DVD - You can tell an old DVD by it's packaging (eg the shitty cardboard Warner Bros cases or the transparent plastic Jewel case style ones that you never see anymore), but if a cover is landscape (which is rare) it's nothing to do with age, just design.

Yep, I think you're right, landscape covers have nothing to do with age. And I also agree about the "shitty cardboard Warner Bros cases"! In fact, I can tell that I hate Warner Bros as a DVD publisher, they often make ugly DVDs, with ugly menus, and in France, the audio commentaries (of Warner Bros pictures) are never subtitled...

Anyway, I really like those landscape covers, I find there is more space (in a way) for description, in the back cover.

I made some covers for my latest (and last OT transfer) I really feel these covers are a fair representation of the SPECIAL WIDESCREEN EDITION Laserdiscs - The Covers will be included in the torrents and I'l post a link for them soon (busy with some part time work this week!)

that is the way they were released,my set looks exactly the same,who knows why they changed the color scheme

All the backs of the LD source sets are grey. All the backs of the dvd covers are grey, only Jedi is black.

EDIT: I don't mind, they are cool, just curious about the black back of jedi...

I don't presume to speak for Rikter, but I'm guessing it's because, for whatever reason, CBS/Fox chose to use a black banner on the front of Jedi instead of gray. If the back design is such that it lets you bring a background color around from the front, which is perfectly doable with a simple text and photo-boxes layout, then carrying the background color over helps tie the whole piece together. I also think the gold searchlight logo looks a heck of a lot better on black than on gray. You just have to decide which is more important, for the individual cover to look as good as it can or for the items in the set to match each other.

No you don't. Their bootleg covers, anyone can alter or copy them.

These are NOT bootlegged covers. These covers are used as replacements, or showcasing preservations. Creativity and devotion come with a lot of these covers, not to mention the ability to share them with other fans freely and unselfishly. The PSYCHO_ONE fully understands and respects the artists in here which is very much appreciated by us.

they are not bootleg. you better go do a bit of reading about creative copyright etc.

even though the images we are using are all copyrighted by the source, our turning them into a piece of creative media means we can exert copyright over what 'we' have created as long as we do not charge money for them otherwise we ourselves would then be in breach of copyright.

we in no way relinquish our own rights regarding what we have created at any time. hence, courtesy to ask for permissions from those whose work you will be using.

When a woman says yes, she means no - when she says maybe, she means no.
