There's a few landscape covers (Labyrinth for example) but It doesn't have anything to do with the age of a DVD - You can tell an old DVD by it's packaging (eg the shitty cardboard Warner Bros cases or the transparent plastic Jewel case style ones that you never see anymore), but if a cover is landscape (which is rare) it's nothing to do with age, just design.
Yep, I think you're right, landscape covers have nothing to do with age. And I also agree about the "shitty cardboard Warner Bros cases"! In fact, I can tell that I hate Warner Bros as a DVD publisher, they often make ugly DVDs, with ugly menus, and in France, the audio commentaries (of Warner Bros pictures) are never subtitled...
Anyway, I really like those landscape covers, I find there is more space (in a way) for description, in the back cover.
