Sorry to disappoint but I simply made these for my WDTV Live player which can play ISO files.
Maybe you should invest in one too :-P

Here I've created a rough version of the Alvin-inspired box. The only elements of the original are Luke and the homestead in the background. The border, logo, and stars are all Photoshopped. I made the preview on such a small scale because with all the rough details like text and the logo, I didn't think it was worth it.
The logo in the final version will, like the original artwork, have a ghosted montage of characters and scenes from the trilogy (and there will be prequel/original versions). I've thought about fleshing out the sky with some clouds or something, since there's a lot more empty space than the original.
ALSO...
The first satisfying result I've gotten as far as a back cover for each movie. I wanted to leave room for screenshots but still have a large scene in the background, so I wound up combining layouts from the Clone Wars and Planet of the Apes BDs.
BUT since I discovered the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull BD, I've found a new base that'll probably change this a little in the final version.

I absolutely love those logos. Great work. They keep with the Episode X look, but also keep a certain retro look as well.
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Does anyone have custom "Faces" DVD covers? I can't find them in this thread. Thanks in advance!
uploaded to mediafire for your convenience. These are a lot nicer than I remembered them being...
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em
Awesome. Thanks a lot!
Upon further inspection those are really poor... there's horrible airbrushing and the black levels are beyond horrendous. I think even a simple toning down of the brightness could fix that, if you want the best looking cover.

I made some great progress on my logos (well, aside from losing the backup vector file that had some form changes). But I saved all the 2D files ahead of time, so there's enough to start Photoshopping.
So far I've got the original 3 bold-style logos, and they look a LOT sharper than my last attempt. I chose the details by zooming in really close on a hi-res picture of the Clone Wars logo and trying to imitate it as closely as possible. And whatever detail I lost by not having the full Photoshop was faked in Elements. I win!
First, here's the old one again:
Now the new version:
EDIT: Prequels and Clone Wars.
Next: Droids?

Very skilled work! But why this 'S' for this logo? Wouldn't the correct one be better?

So...if this is the soundtrack for The Phantom Menace, why is there a Star Wars Trilogy logo for the OT?

I really want to ask why not just wait until you are done, but that question seems too logical, so nvm.

your right, fixed now, replaced with the finished versions of Ep-2 & 3 not exactly glamerous but better than having an OT logo on the soundtrack for the PT

Cause at first I based the "Sith" logo off the one for "Jedi", then I decided it'd be a little more original to base it on the logo for "Empire". I just reshaped it a little.

It's fishman.
I am working on a very retro trilogy box set right now. It is going to be for the oldies in here.

Hi been coming to this forum for a while and finally signed up. I started this cover ages ago and abandoned it. But with Adywans hd versions I was thinking of redoing these as bluray covers.

Now that is very unique. I don't think I have ever seen a Star Wars cover like that. Nice work.

Here is my WIP box. I plan on keeping it very simple. The DVD cases will be more complex. I plan on making them very retro. I would have imformation and symbols, but this box is for Star Wars fans, it isn't to advertise logos.
The detail is missing from the imandix sample, it looks very beautiful in the raw images.
Any creative imput is more than welcome.
