Is that an X-Wing with a Y-Wing engine?

^ kitbashing on a larger scale? 😉
I hadn’t seen that image before in that clear a quality. Previously I thought it was a Y-Wing ‘nacelle’ just resting up a crane next to a half-built X-Wing, but you could well be right going on that image 😃
Well in and kudos to everyone contributing images up in these threads - just when we think we’ve seen it all (or near as)…

Thank you SO much for posting up these pictures, everyone. And also in the other image threads 😃
Curious color scheme here. Red and gold? I can see why it was dropped, given the squadron designations. But it does look nice.
And here’s an all-red Y-Wing. Reminds me of how the Y-Wings were based on the bomber craft Luke piloted in the January 1975 second draft.
This Colin Cantwell Y-Wing design is based directly on the second draft - Luke sits in the pilot’s cockpit, Chewie Antilles (later called Wedge) is the rear tail-gunner, and R2-D2 and C-3PO are the bombardiers in the lower cockpit. (I suspect the original idea of R2-D2 as a small droid based on HG Wells’ Martian tripods may have been at play there. See also the minature size of ID-10 and BD-1 in EA’s recent SW games.)
Huh. Looks like the sandcrawler’s side hatch was planned to be a lot bigger at one point (with likely implications for the overall scale).
“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”
