Hello,
I have compiled a (nearly) definitive collection of all the old Spy vs Spy Mad TV shorts and the four Mountain Dew ads for a project I'd like to do. I have extremely limited access to a DVD burner at this point, but I'd like to somehow get this going. I also have an excellent copy of the Unaired Mad Magazine TV pilot cartoon from the 70s that also has a Spy vs Spy short--but its on VHS and would need to be encoded. Is there interest in this project, if so, perhaps I can sent the AVIs to someone here and we can take it from there.

Additionally, wouldn't it be great to have all of the Spidey Super Stories segments from The Electric Company compiled on one DVD? I remember seeing VHS comps of this on sale at sci-fi shows years ago. It would be great to have for sure.

I never even heard of the Mad 70's TV pilot. This sounds really cool.

I remember watching the Spider-man bits on the Electric Company too and loved them. It would be nice to watch these again on DVD, even though I'm afraid that I remember them as being better than they really were.

I'd love to see this DVD. The Spy vs Spy shorts were always my favorite part of Mad TV, which otherwise was awful.

Looking at the Wikipedia link provided by dcfcfan There were several TV related Spider-Man things that as far as I know haven't ever been released on DVD, such as a '70's tv series that might go along well with the Electric Company Spider-Man stuff, if anyone has it. I can see it now. Spider-Man, the low budget edition...

The Japanese TV series (which is amazingly strange) got an official release there last year in an 8-disc box set:

The problem with the 70's TV series is it all the villans were bank robbers and such. No comic book villans like Green Goblin.

I've actually never seen the '70's TV series, and didn't even know there was one until I saw it on wikipedia. I didn't figure it was that great, or it would of gotten a DVD release or be in syndication. But not having comic book villians in and of itself doesn't make it lousy. Lex Luthor or any of the other comic book villians ever show up in the George Reeves' Adventures of Superaman TV series, and its still good. I don't believe that any of the comic book villians ever showed up in the Wonder Woman TV series either. (Why do they do that sort of thing?) Still, if anyone has it on VHS or something, it might be worthwile to transfer to DVD, along with the Electric Company bits. After all, even if it sucks, its Spider-man, and there are plenty of hard-core fans who would love it.

When I was little at our local mall (Wonderland) in Livonia, MI they had an appearance of Spiderman. I remember how geeked I was. All the kids had their spiderman action figures. No pictures though. There is one posted on a website regarding malls in the US.

Now I have an idea of something to add in regards to Spidey if anyone can locate it. Back in the early 90's there was a Spiderman film that was going to be done by whoever had the rights at the time. I can't remember who. I don't remember if it was the Cameron version or not. But at a comic show was the actual poster that had Spiderman swingining over the city. It think it said comming next summer or something to that effect since they must have been sure they were going to get the film made. If I remember correctly it was a photo of a real man in a suit rather than an artists rendition. Anyway it would be cool to locate that poster to add in the Spiderman section. Just a thought.

I made a rough version of the DVD just with the spy shorts and the Mountain Dew ads. Does anyone know exactly how many there were? I want to make sure I have them all before I get this thing going.
