Did you understand the rest of my explanation?
Apparently not, and frankly (my fault or not) I’m tired of trying to understand anything you say. It’s exhausting.

Sorry. If my point wasn’t clear, don’t hurt yourself.

Once again I don’t get what you’re trying to say.
You said trying to understand me is exhausting. Don’t hurt yourself, as in, “don’t hurt your brain dwelling on the point I tried to make”. I know you wouldn’t have done so literally, but it’s like a saying, y’know?

You use some bizarre sayings.
I guess we all do at sometimes.

But what if the sequels have different situations our heroes must go through but still rely on the Star Wars formula (blaster shootouts, space/land battles, lightsaber duels, chases etc.)?
Please, those things are just TFA ripoffs.
They could have recast Luke Skywalker as a 13 year old Tanzanian girl who happens to be a lesbian.
Wipe out racism, sexism, ageism, and homophobia with one fell blow! :)

It would be good!

I can somehow see Disney doing this, one day 😄
But really, only few people would stand young protagonists after TPM 😉

“Better” is the word I’d use but I’m sure given that the main criticism of TFA is that it was too similar to the OT the film makers will craft a new plot for the future films. TFA got us back into the universe we all love, now it’s time for the sequels to tell a more original and hopefully deeper story.
TFA should have told a more original deeper story in the first place, because that would have gotten us back into the universe just fine if done right.

As far as depth goes it’s a bit deeper than STAR WARS was. Especially when it comes to the villain aspect of the films.

Who’s “us”?

“Us” as in most fans of the OT. Well at least those who won’t dismiss the ST just on the basis that it’s not the OT.

Or on the basis that it’s too much the OT. Not everyone dislikes it for the same reasons, and I don’t have an issue with those who gave it a chance and decided it wasn’t for them.

… In fact, I did think that ESB Lando was pushing up to the limits, but adventure heroes have always sailed off to exotic “lands” and encountered tribal chiefs and bosses. It was ROTJ Lando that went over the top as an allied general in what was, in part, a WWII propaganda feature. He could have served as a Tuskeegee squadron commander. Ackbar was better as an allied naval commander.

In the mid-seventies, around the release of SW while GL was developing his story, the pop culture figure perhaps considered the funniest and most popular with blacks and whites was J-J from the sitcom 'GOOD TIMES'.
His function was to provide zaney, silly humor and to be over-the-top so that the other black characters in the all black cast could seem more straight and reasonable.
I can see why those unfamiliar with this would wonder if the character, in isolation, was a stereotype.

I wish more people were like that. I mean I loathe the idea of a Han Solo movie but I’m going to see it before I call it garbage. I may even see it twice before rendering my verdict.
Can we get on topic? The last few pages are just racism and argueing about whether or not the Force Awakens is good. Talk about originality and how you would make the Force Awakens more original.
Technically we were talking about originality or lack there of in TFA.
Well definitely a step towards originality would be to make the Episode VII take place at least 100 years after the Battle of Endor. No Skywalkers, no Solos and preferably no Empire or remnants (though it makes sense in TFA since it’s only been 30 years). This way a completely new threat can be introduced and it would’t seem out of place. Also instead of a Dark Side Master at the helm we could make the supreme villain a government official that reigns over the Dark Side users and whatever you want to call the new army our heroes would face. Also it wouldn’t hurt to have different clans of Force Wielders with their own philosophies on how The Force should be used and on the galaxy could be ran.
Just a few ideas off the top of the dome.

The EU is popular, but writing the sequel trilogy within its canon is creative suicide.
I’m not saying that you should have it all. The EU is contradicting itself in many places, so contradicting the EU at something minor would not be a big deal.
The only things that I would consider “EU-canon” are those few things I mentioned.
Anyway, the new movies should not be about EU characters or OT characters. Some OT characters need to have been in the sequel-movie somehow to pass the torch, but they should have been in different places in their lives than what they had been back in the start of ANH.
That is one way that the movie could have been more original.

What the hell does any of that have to do with what i said about the prequels and their racist stereotypes?
