Split avi to audio/video?

Well, I have capture a movie with my laserdisc player and PDI Delux card. I used Dscaler 5 and huffyuv 2.2 (YUY2). I combie the two AVI files to one big file.

Now, before I do the inverse telecine, sharpening, and other filter, I should split the file into a video file and one audio file, right? So I can convert the wave to MP3 and pitch correct it. What program should I use for this?

Thanks in advance

I can't answer your question, but that part doesn't make any sense. Why throw away audio quality and then pitch correct it?

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

Well, what I understand is that when you do a inverse telecine (3:2 pull-down removal), the image and audio will not sync, or am I wrong?

Like I said, I have no idea about that stuff, I was just wondering why you were going to do the MP3 conversion and then do the pitch correction. Why not do the correction to the original WAV file?

Technically, no, because you are not making the video shorter. Sure, you are combining frames, but you are changing the framerate as well (30fps to 24fps). More frames/faster framerate to fewer frames/slower framerate = same amount of time altogether.

That being said, it's not impossible to lose sync. I, myself, have not had this problem, though.

Not that I'm being pedantic, or anything, but it's 29.97fps to 23.976fps
