Idea: Spinal Tap - the edition that GOES TO ELEVEN?

Hey, I see there are many restoration projects of unreleased material being run and discussed here, so I thought I’d ask… is anyone here giving thought to this? A “special edition” of the 4hr workprint of Spinal Tap, with some extras. I have a bunch of rare Tap material that could be used for extras. BUT… I don’t have the workprint. :\ (Does anyone know any source? I know there’s a guy selling it on VCD online, but the quality of VCD is bad, so I doubt it’s worth it, especially since he asks almost 30 dollars, twice the usual price that the bootleggers want…) If anyone does, though, and would want to restore it, etc., I’d be interested to hear it.

I have the workprint spread across 3 DVDs. They picture quality isn't that great; it's dark and muddled, but you can see everything pretty okay. The sound is really great, however. The audio also falls out of sync at certain points because it is an extremely rough cut of the flick and that stuff wasn't finalized yet.

Galatians 2: 20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

The current DVD also has all of the same deleted scenes. The only things that the current in-print DVD doesn't have that the Criterion one did is the original short film and the commentary.

The deleted scenes on the DVDs do not nearly add up enough to re-construct the workprint. The deleted scenes total about an hour, so re-instating them would make the movie about two and a half hours long. The workprint is four and a half hours.

How black could that cover be? The answer is none. None more black.

Wow, Perhaps we could use all of the footage from the DVD and combine it with the workprint, yes there's a quality difference, but it would also be a telltale sign of what was never released.
