Spider-Man World-Trade-Center 35mm Teaser Trailer (Released)

Hello Movie Fans

does anyone have the 35mm World-Trade-Center Teaser-Trailer of Spider-Man? I tried to get it from eBay, but the price was always extremely high. If someone has it, is there any chance we could use that Print to preserve the Trailer in HD? I do have a VOB of it, but the the quality isn’t that great. In fact it’s pretty bad 😉
It’s the source we’ve used on movie-list.com for our encode of the QuickTime Trailer - WTC Teaser

It would be awesome if we can preserve the Trailer, because I don’t think it will ever see the light of day again from the Studio.

Would LOVE to see this preserved properly. I hope you find one.

Where were you in '77?

Good find SilverWook, but none of the seller ship to Germany.

The MovieFX #4 DVD is the source of my VOB. So we can scratch that.

If shipping is your only problem, I can middleman if no one else will.

I'd love to have this! I only had dialup at the time, so my copy is the size of a postage stamp!

It’s really sad when the “creative minds” behind something we hold dear are also guilty of its destruction.

I have a copy of the Movie FX video magazine issue.  I had more copies at the time but sold them.

The Trailer has been bought by another member and will hopefully soon be ready for it's big travel around the world to scan it. I'll keep you updated when & where the Trailer can be download, but here is no time frame. So this may take a few weeks or months to be fully finished.

I have an unused 35mm cinemascope trailer of the twin towers Spiderman trailer.  I used to be a projectionist and when we got the letter asking us to send them all back, I kept one.  I wish I had kept the letter to go with it!

But it would be cropped...

Wait... Riiiiiight. The Movie was in 1.85:1. Haven't seen the Movie in a long time. I thought it was Scope.

But nonetheless, it's good to know that there is another Source available.

If the teaser trailer was filmed at 1.85:1, it's still possible the scope trailer might be pillar boxed instead of cropped.

In theory, but it still wouldn't be worth scanning when there is a flat print to scan: it would use less of the film area and further lose resolution due to optical anamorphic squeeze.

The one film trailer I own is open matte flat for a 1.85 film and the same thing on DVD is cropped from 1.37 down to 2.35.

I HAVE THE MASTERS.
To my knowledge, we destroyed the 35mm masters at Sony…

But I am the only person with the actual DigiBeta masters.

We were told to dispose of anything with the twin towers but my boss told me to just get rid of them but not nuke ‘em, which I normally would’ve done,
and he said get them out of here, as in Sony, so they ‘went away’ to the cornfield.😉

Oh wow! I would love to get a 1080p+ version of this scanned in! Best damn trailer EVER!

Sorry for what may appear to be needless second entry…I forgot to include NOTIFY on my first post, and EDIT does not give option to include NOTIFY setting. I’m hoping that someone can get this scanned in.

I have the German trailer in 35mm “non-cinemascope”… With the German revoking letter…

Can you encode and upload them please (ideally at full resolution DNxHR or Prores)? Unfortunately trailers are grossly overlooked by studios, can you believe before I uploaded the Matrix’s trailer:

That it didn’t exist anywhere in HD?

Amazing, thank you! When you release the raw file, can you release it in Open Matte as well? I worked a bit on a scan of the German trailer and noticed there’s lots of additional image information on the top and bottom on many frames. Would be worth preserving imo. 😃
