It is going pretty good. I just got back from Nashville, so I now I am going to get back to working on it tomorrow.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Hey there,

I've been an avid ady-thread follower, and now I've found out about this edit. I know you said you wouldn't do any sound editing. But please consider this:

When the crew-member get's slashed during the Schartz-fight, PLEASE add the original Wilhelm-scream?

I'm looking forward to the end result. And now that I've taken the small effort of creating an account, I might be more lippy from now on ;-)

Cheers,

Cheers,

Welcome man. I will definitely take that into consideration. I love the Wilhelm-scream. There will most likely be a Wilhelm-scream in the edit. There is already one in the original, but I will add new ones.

Either don't overuse it or take it to the extreme.  What could be funny would be to have everyone scream the same scream in the scene when Vespa takes out the whole squad chasing them to Lone Star's ship, right at "You shot my hair!"

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

That would be awesome, if it doesn't sound too ridiculous.

I will definitely consider it when I get past the visual stages. The Wilhelm scream is absolutely going in several places.

I am going to scrap this project and start over. 1080p in after effects is causing me some problems. It is crashing constantly and way too slow.

720p will look great and will make this go by alot faster and easier on my computer.

If I had money I would buy a more capable computer, but seeing as I don't have to nickles to rub together, this is going to be a no budget edit.

Hell, Ady is doing his work in 720p and doing a damn good job of it. I know it can handle 720p without any problems. So, here is to the future and a much sooner edit release.

720p is good enough, it's still better than DVD :P

Anyway, I hope you're still keeping the original colours (crawl, lightsabers, lasers, etc... ) the same? Seeing how this is a parody of Star Wars (and others) I don't see the need to have the colours all the same.

You know, you could always keep the blue but change the style of the logo to match the STAR WARS opening title crawl.

SPACE
BALLS (BLAM!  Filling up the screen!  Then receding into distance)

as opposed to:

SPACEBALLS (there it is... that's it.  Just the title.)

Also (with the Princess Vespa's bad hair day massacre), you could do some slight audio manipulation on the Wilhelm scream to have slightly different pitches to account for the different guards getting zapped.  In fact, everyone who gets hurt (who is not a main character) could have their own unique Wilhelm scream.

Well, actually this project is causing me problems right now. I am putting it on hold until I can upgrade my computer. As of now I am trying to work with a stock Dell that I got in 2005. It can hardly handle the memory usage of AE/and Vegas. So I am gonna upgrade it soon. I had never done any hard editing, so I never needed a good computer. I always knew it wasn't a great computer, especially back in my gaming days.

Sorry to ruin everyone's good day. This project isn't dead, it is just on hiatus. So remember to keep pushing the good ideas.

I think my computer should be kicking ass in no time, so here is to that. I will look at prices. Good computers aren't as expensive as they were when I got this one.

QFT.  I've paid less and less for every computer I bought since my first "modern" box in 2003.

My eMachine is probably the saddest thing any of you have ever seen (or heard).  I'm going to try to do some editing on it, but I can't promise that it won't just catch on fire looking at the install discs.

Oh god yes, my parents have an eMachine. They had me fix it all of the time, and then boom, it's hard drive died. I had to replace it, and install XP over the horrible Vista it used to have. It works better, but not as good as I wish it could. I hated it, and still hate it. They bought it in 2009, and my 2005 dell, dominates it. Which is a bad thing.

I've managed to upgrade enough components to make it decent, but its pushing 5 years and sounds like a wind machine if you push it too hard (ie, open a program).

Yeah, I had a Packard Bell when I was a kid, that cost an arm and a leg. It was a Handmedown, but an expensive one. Then I had a Midwest Micro which was pretty pricey as well. This Dell cost about $900, but I have seen some good computers for $400 now. I plan on working to get a good one soon. I might go with another dell, or I may just buy some better parts. I don't want a box full of shit I will replace anyway.

I know what you mean. The one my parents have is very loud. It came with a 20 inch monitor, which is cool, but that is all I like about it.

That's all I consider my PCs to be in the first place... I start with something, then I upgrade it piecemeal (as I did with my last computer...an eMachines).

My current computer is homebuilt.

I am deeply considering building my own. I will scrap my Dell for parts and replace some. I have been looking at some nice cases lately. I really want to get a better cooling system, because my room is freaking hot.

Hey ESF! Have you thought/done any more on this project?

Yeah, I plan on getting back to all my projects when I get money saved up to get build a better computer. I've still got all the files on my laptop. I've done minor upgrades, but it still isn't good enough. I just need to start fresh and build a better computer.
