A take on the Love Pledge scene. I’ve had this idea in my head for the longest time that it could be interesting to portray Anakin as a character who doesn’t speak very much/isn’t incredibly sure of himself. Going along with this idea I have removed all of Anakin’s lines from this scene, which makes it much more watchable imo. I don’t think this particular edit of the clip is perfect but it’s a nice proof of concept.

You’re back??? Yeah!!!

Nice clip! I actually had another idea for this scene I’ve been sitting on for a while:

Maybe with a different piece of music, it could be played less seriously. Play up the absurdity of the situation.

  • Padme: “I love you”
  • Anakin looks back at her surprised. Before he has time to say or do anything, the cart begins moving out into the arena.

No kiss here…save it for the end.

I’m glad you’ve got a working computer again!

Shy, insecure Anakin seems like a great idea for making the most of Hayden’s performance in AOTC. You could perhaps leave in his cockiness when Jedi-ing (“If you’ll excuse me!”), to show a contrast between his (over)confidence in his space wizard day job, but his lack of confidence regarding all the interpersonal skills the Jedi never taught him/even deterred him from learning.
