I love the musical rescoring! I definitely agree with Darth GL that Obi-Wan needs a “Nooooo!!”, but I’m sure that extracting it isn’t too hard using something like Audacity, at least to be used underneath a music track. I’m definitely leaning towards using something like this is my edit

I wouldn’t even need to extract it because starwars.com has a very useful soundboard which contains Obi-Wan’s “NOO00!” by itself with no other audio, I’ll try it out but it may not end up in the edit anyway

I have finished my rough cut of the phantom menace, now onto the special effects and audio editing phase! The final cut will be around 80 minutes, I’ll be uploading some more rough clips soon so stay tuned.

80 minutes sound good. The prequels really don’t have enough story for three 2 and a half hour films.

I do realize that a few parts of the sand are a few pixels off but once the mask is layered on top of the video you would never be able to tell

It seems odd to me that Qui-Gon would go alone. The Queen has Captain Panaka, and Obi-Wan cold totally go with Q-G

It makes more sense than taking Jar Jar, of course he does end up with Padme so it’s not like he’s all alone with R2 the entire movie.

So I’ve decided to upload my rough version of the opening for TPM. Let me know what you think. Note that many of the ship/explosion sounds are either missing or wrong, this is just a proof of concept. I suggest reading the title crawl before watching it:

It is a time of foreboding for the galaxy. After centuries of peace, many isolated star systems have been invaded by the Trade Federation.

Queen Padme Amidala of the peaceful planet Naboo has managed to escape her home system with the assistance of two Jedi, guardians of peace and justice in the Galactic Republic.

To prevent further oppression from the Federation, she must venture to the galactic capital of Coruscant to plead for intervention to save her people and restore peace to the galaxy…

Wow!! I really like this. I’m not sure what you’re going to do about the battle later, but I’m definitely looking forward to this! Here’s to radical edits

Thanks! The final battle won’t have a dogfight because it’s tied directly to the Gungan battle and the only character to be invested in would be Anakin who shouldn’t be there in the first place. The ending will focus on Padme and the Jedi only.

It seems like you’re cutting out a lot of this movie. How long is your runtime atm?

75 minutes but I’ll be able to get it up to 80 with some deleted scenes and sequences from AOTC.

Wow that is pretty short
