Aw, c'mon Jambe - you gave away the whole damn movie. I hate when they do that.

It's been stated right here in this thread where the music came from.

Clint Mansell scored the music for the film 'Requiem for a Dream'. Peter Jackson loved the music so much that he asked Mansell to score a slightly punchier version of the title theme so that he could use it for an epic LOTR TTT trailer. The new piece is commonly referred to as 'Requiem for a Tower'.

Actually, does anybody know if this piece is commercially available? I have the MP3 like most others... but surely it would be on CD somewhere?

As far as I know it hasn't really been officially released and it probably never will be - as it's only really been used on promotiomal stuff like trailers.

Both trailers are wonderful!
Requiem for a Dream suits perfectly to ROTJ!
And the second trailer showed me that the sound effects tribute a lot to the atmosphere of the movie.
They sounded old, and so seemed the movie. Another important point for my quest of making the prequels feel old (which I'll maybe continue someday).

Nice job, Jambe Davdar and Jon Schell!

I think a trailer should make you want to watch the movie without giving anything away (or even set you off on the wrong foot). When watching your trailer Jambe, I really want to see the movie again. And you don't give anything away unlike some other trailers that even have the death star explosion in it. There are even trailers that contain the best action scenes of a movie. The music and image match perfectly. I was a tiny bit too long though maybe.

I agree Arnie, I got a little carried away with the length. The reason it ended up being so long was because of the difficulty in finding good music edit points. I think I ended up editing the music at five different points to create a flow and a build up to the end.

I decided quite early on not to show anything of Jabba or the Ewoks as these were suprises to me as a kid when watching the film for the first time. I also played a little bit with the dialogue to give a false impression or two. E.g. Han's apparent line to Lando - "You're throwing away a fortune, don't be a fool". As we know, Han actually says this to Jabba. But I intended to make use of it to give the feelings of animosity between the pair.

Glad you enjoyed it anway.

Oh, yeah. Doh! I'm gonna try to get it going this week. Between having some crazy deadlines at work, PiF chains (I think I sent out 20 copies of Returning to Jedi) and having to buy a new burner, things have been a little crazy at SluggoCentral.

I actually have been having a little bit of trouble with the last trailer as the audio is on a seperate track and I have currently forgotten how to join it to the video.

All right, I've got the last trailer on the u-tube, but in typical tube fashion, we have to wait who knows how long for it to be available for viewing.

AND...

The next trailers contest will be accepting submissions from April 25th up until May 25th, 2007. I don't want to hear that anyone needs more time this time.

Would you accept something clone wars related or purely movie footage? I've got an idea in mind but I wont start it unless it's worthwhile. I've got a few other ideas to try out as well, Time permitting.

^ or would that open the floodgates to all sorts of questionable EU material?

Johnny, that should be fine. I talked to one of my pals who helps judge these things and we agreed that the farther things go towards the EU, the less likely we'd vote for them. It really depends on the quality of the source material you use and what you are able to do with it. For instance, this probably wouldn't win any awards for quality, but I had fun making it.

You actually made that? I have to say it had me laughing pretty good, thats darn funny.

I wanted to let you know I found out that ADM's Star Wars Spoofs DVD has the 97 SE trailers on the disk, I dont know if you got a hold of them or not . I dont have it but maybe someone could send them to you for this next project if your planning on making another DVD out of everything.

Yeah.

I bumped it back on the start date, but nobody jumped in and said anything so I let it slide.

If there is interest, I'll do another one. The end date would have to be at the end of August as I am:

1. Gearing up for finals in me college classes
2. Assisting with wedding plans with me fiance who lives up in Canada (man, I miss her right now!)
3. Moving at the end of the month
4. Working 2 jobs.
