Silver Screen edition v1.6 iso vs mkv two versions, two files title00 title01

I have a SSE v1.6 iso that is 37.5 Gb. Using makemkv I THINK I made a 1:1 copy to watch on my smart TV that doesn’t play iso files. Upon making the mkv files, I ended up with two files of roughly 32 Gb each. They say title 00 and title 01. (There were other files that look to be menu titles.)
I found a thread once but can’t find it again that mentioned that there is a different version of the crawl on there - one from 1977 and one from 1981. Watching each, there is a difference in how the Star Wars title fades into the crawl.
I have several questions:
Are there any other differences in the movies?
How can I end up with TWO files of 32 Gb from one iso of 37.5 Gb size?
Is the 37.5 Gb iso the FULL, definitive size/quality created or is there a larger sized one out there?
Did I end up with the best quality mkv at 32 Gb?
Am I keeping the same quality as if I burned the iso to a Bluray?
Thanks in advance. And for the record, I’ve looked and looked for these answers prior to posting. So if this has been covered, I’ve just been unsuccessful at finding the thread.

The only difference is the crawl, the original 1977 and the 1981 one. The 1981 has “Episode IV A NEW HOPE” while the original doesn’t. After the crawl, they’re identical.

In the original disc, there would be two playlists. Each playlist plays two files. First, one of two crawls (relatively short). Regardless of which crawl is played, it then moves onto the same much larger file for the rest of the film. The official Blu-ray does the same thing for alternate language crawls.

When you set makeMKV or similar to rip everything, it makes separate files for the different versions. It’s the two individual crawls, each appended to the same rest of the film. If you ripped the seamless branching version of Blade Runner, you’d get three different full sized copies, etc. If someone made a disc with 100 options, each with one tiny change, you’d get 100 files.

It’s interesting that you noticed something very subtle about the title fading out. Surely there is also EPISODE IV (or not) there, right?

Yes, that’s the full size ISO. MKVs have a little less space wasted than the format on discs. So, you save even more space for each file than just the excluded crawl.

Great! Thanks. That all totally makes sense. The old thread I had seen said something about the “crawl fade” or something like that, which made me focus on that and not notice the Ep. IV addition, lol.
