Anyone else hear about this?

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

That was at least a year ago. I've got a better quality, downloadable video of that on my webspace.

AFI Lifetime Achievement for George Lucas

It is priceless. Everyone in my family loved it, especially when the stormtroopers started doing the grapevine.

Oh yeah. I remember that. Yeah, I like how no one from the PT was there. Well, maybe that one guy that played Organna. Something about being happy to be part of the whole experiance, or something. But everyone else was like, "hell no."

Shatner rocks.

Noticed how, everytime shortly before Shatner says "You did it your way", Lucas looks in horror and after the words are spoken breathes a sigh of relief?

Affraid someone was going to critisize the alterations to the OOT?

I know! You're absolutely right. He seemed so uncomfortable there. I don't think he liked the "Star Trek changed everything" line either.

Wasn't Sam Jackson there?

And yeah, Lucas' face is priceless for most of it. I can't wait until someone calls him on it in public.

Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the war room!

Was he? I don't remember. I bearly remember him in the movies, so that tells ya' something.

Wow, a pointless, minor character shows up and represents the past 7 years of Star Wars hype. Mmm hmm. Yup.

I refused to watch that special and I still do. it would make me sick to watch two hours of people kissing that selfish hypocrite's ass.

I watched it. It wasn't all that bad. I did 'Boo!' when they were doing a montage of various Star Wars segments and Anakin's floating head appeared on Shaw's body. But it was pretty neat. I liked Carrie Fisher's speech to Lucas. She is one funny gal.

And also, because I don't want to start a thread for this: Did anyone see the Superman special last night on A&E? Mark Hamill gave an interview for it. It was cool.

Talking while somebody plays background music does not consitute singing.
He had some degree of vague rythm though, so you could almost call it rap.

If you've never seen Shatner doing Rocketman, you're missing half the joke. His performance was also 'channeled' by Stewie on Family Guy.

Shatner also did a spoken word version of rap song "Slim Shady" (is that the right name? I can't stand rap) on Futurama. He knows what people think of is "singing" and he plays into it.

If you like Shatner "singing", you should listen to his album "Has Been".

Han: Hey Lando! You kept your promise, right? Not a scratch?
Lando: Well, what’s left of her isn’t scratched. All the scratched parts got knocked off along the way.
Han (exasperated): Knocked off?!

Here is a link to the only vid I think online of Shatner singing Elton John's "Rocketman". This is from a 1978 Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film awards show or something. I remember people talking about it for a long time before I ever saw it (I worked in a comic/sci-fi/fantasy shop for 7 years), and some considered it further proof that he was full of himself, while others insisted he had a sense of humor. Maybe it's a mix of the two, but it is entertaining....even if its a little like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

(if anyone has a better quality transfer of that clip, I'd love to see it)

Thanks Z6PO for the "Has Been" mention. I didn't know of that album, but after having listened to various mp3 of parts of it now, I look foward to getting it. He makes me smile, but I understand the album is not a laugh fest. I can't resist the idea of Shatner and Henry Rollins doing a number together.

There's some Shatner song where one of the first lines is something like 'and then you're dead'. I don't know anything about the song, but it cracked me up when I heard it.
