Sequels that should never be... — Page 9

The thing is...

Well, I'm not much of a horror movie buff, but I watched part of F13VII once, and it seemed to me like nothing that happned was actually all that scary: It was like the purpose of the film is to show copious amounts of gore rather than actually scare you...

Which I find a little disturbing.

Thats pretty much all that those "slasher" flicks consist of, copious amounts of gore rather than the Silent Hill 3 like creep out effect.

Or even Resident Evil-style cheap scares. (THOSE FURIGGIN' DOGS JUST JUMPED THROUGH THE WINDOW!) I don't understand how blood alone is scary.

If blood alone was frightening, then Kill Bill would be the best horror movie ever, and Mortal Kombat would be survival horror.

Or like Doom 3 scares.

"I hope a zombie doesn't rush out of that closed supply room like one has for the last 3 hours everytime I come by one."

that was funny, Sessler.

It would probably have been funny to me if I'd played Doom III.

Not every scary movie should be about making the audience jump of their seats with sudden, loud appearences. I hate those kinds of movies. I enjoy the more subitle, psychological kind of terror, like on Hitchcock's movies. The only exception are the terror movies made in Japan for the past 10-15 years (like Ringu), those are horrible.

All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. So you're more of a Silence of the Lambs kind of guy, ric? Me too.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Oh thank you. I hated that shit too.

I'm a Silence kind of guy, too. So long as I can forget about the sequels. Those are crap.

Bossk, did you ever see Manhunter? MUCH better than Red Dragon.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I didn't know this, but that movie's got CSI's own Gil Grissom (William Petersen)

Anyway, another bad sequel...

Lethal Weapon sequels...Look Who's Talking...Three Men and a little lady...Tomb Raider 2...shall I go on?

I kinda enjoyed the Lethal Weapons sequels. Mostly because they are basically the same movie, but with Joe Pesci more irritating in each one.

Look Who's Talking is a crappy movie by itself, what can anyone say about sequels?

I can say the same about "three man and a baby".

And don't get me started on Tomb Raider...

Yeah, I saw Manhunter. Bored me. That and the fact that Michael Mann was trying to use Miami Vice stylized music in it really ruined the film for me.

I, too, liked the Lethal Weapon sequels. In fact, LW2 is my fave of the series.

since this thread doesn't specify movie sequels, then I want to submit DragonBallGT. The story ended with the Buu saga but TOEI just had to find another way to cash in.

It's a great scene. But I wonder what took them so long to shoot the racist embassador.

Can't conserve the integrity of a movie by letting it stand, now can we?

Disney, or Hollywood for that matter, doesn't think that way.
